megaclose are rubbish!
On tuesday afternoon I cam home from uni to find a gasman in the flat who said that our boiler has been leaking carbon monoxide (first wtf, we don't know how long it's happened but it's probably good that I'm stingy and refuse to have it on for more than an hour a day, i chuck on loads of jumpers and blankets. Also, we don't know when they came in and tested it/why didn't they tell us before getting a gasman in?) and that it's got to be turned off AKA no hot water + heating in the middle of february. So we start getting on megaclose like 'WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO' and they say it will DEFINATELY be back on thursday. So he comes again on thurs and says it all needs replacing and he'll do it'll be done by friday. Today is friday, and they've made loads of mess and it won't be fixed till tuesday when they need to get a roofer. Megaclose told us to use the shower at the gym in the victoria centre and they will reimburse us. I will sit in a sauna for 3 hours. Next week we are also expecting an electrictian to come round and fix some live wires next to the oven, that have apparantly been there since september. They told us not to touch them.... hmmmmm.
So no showers for a week and I have been washing my hair in the sink with a kettle. Joe's mum rang and sounded scary cos she's a teacher and does it better than us and knows better words. And then we don't know whats going on with the electricals.
Ermmm..kind of good news - went round trent to look at textiles courses and it's lovely and has giant knitting machines and looms that look scary. They said drawing was important though so I need to get a bit of a portfolio for that- can anyone teach me how to draw properly?! If I don't get accepted I don't know what to do really... Either carry on with sociology (should I do this considering I want to change courses after 4 months? Will I just end up disliking it more and do badly? I did alright in the exams over january, 64 overall. There was something ridiculous like 19% of students failed!) or do something to MAKE me get into a textiles course like an art foundation or access thing.. This would have to be P.T though as I want to stay in Notts and would need to work to pay the billlssszz...
I have an essay to do on whether Marx and Weber's ideas+theories can be applied to contemporary society.. someone help me decide what to do before I start it.......
