Describe the meaning or significance in your username: Well, "curiosity kate" is a well-known phrase (I wonder where it comes from? Maybe it's just alliteration) and my name is Kate.
Favorite color: pink
Do you give orders or simple follow what's given to you? Neither. I'm way too stubborn to do what I'm told, but I don't like telling people what to do. People should make their own choices in life.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Depends if you've just drunk half, or only filled it halfway!
Your favourite drink is? Chocolate milk!
Smoking. Yes or no? I don't smoke and never have. I don't really agree with smoking but certain people just look very cool and sexy when they smoke. My boyfriend, for example, although he's quit now (I'm glad he has but I do miss seeing him smoke!).
Scraping the Surface
What are your interests? Literature (studying for a degree online), manga, sex (books (fact&fiction) about it that is, though the real thing is nice too ;]) ancient mysteries (stuff like the Loch Ness Monster and alternate theories on evolution)
What are your pet peeves? being told what to do, not getting enough time to myself, not getting enough sleep, people who have absolutely no self-awareness
What are your hobbies? Special talents? reading, knitting, gaming, daydreaming, sleeping. I'm good at sleeping, heh. I used to do a lot of creative writing and got a lot of positive feedback from friends and friends-of-friends, but for the last year or so I haven't written anything at all. I just feel so uninspired. It's sad. But I know I'll get it back eventually, I've probably just got some living to do first.
Your strengths lie in… and why? I'm very open and don't have many secrets. I like who I am. I make my own mind up and don't let others influence me too much.
Your weaknesses are… and why? I've had social anxiety all my life and although I've kinda got better at the anxiety part (thanks to seeing a therapist), I'm still very withdrawn and quiet. I'm really forgetful and disorganised, I lose everything, I'm a total procrastinator and I'm always late.
Digging a little Deeper
Who do you admire (whether it be fictitious or real life) and why? I always find questions like this hard. I don't know why, because I read a lot and get very attached to fictional characters - so you'd think there'd be somebody there I'd admire even if there isn't anyone in real life. But I guess with fictional characters I am attracted to their flaws and their realism. There isn't anybody who I think is absolutely perfect in every way. A lot of the fictional characters I like are very young, so haven't had a chance to prove themselves yet. They might be cool now, but they might end up being total failures ten years later - who knows? As for real life... I don't socialise much and those that I do know, I know well enough to see all their flaws. I'm rambling now and I haven't even given a real answer, heh.
What do you look for in a friend and why? Somebody who doesn't have an idea about what "normal" is and who will put up with me being pretty unreliable and antisocial. And somebody who I just have a certain chemistry with. You can't explain that.
If you were in a rock band, which position would you play and why? I'd love to say singer, because I'd love to be able to sing my own lyrics. But I am not very good at singing and I am probably too shy for that. I've taught myself to play the piano and I can play okay. I don't think I really am good enough at team-work to be in a band though.
How would your ideal room/apartment look like and why? Heh, I spend hours and hours on the Sims 2 just designing all the houses and making them look just right! I love daydreaming about that kind of thing. I'd want a mix of old-fashioned and modern. There'd be lots of windows and the walls would all be cream. Not that dull beige cream that cheap rented houses have, but a really nice warm light cream. I'd have lots of nice-smelling flowers around to make the place look cheerful. And posters on the walls, probably framed to keep them nice. And I'd have a really huge bed. And lots and lots of storage space for all my books. I'd like to say it'd be really really tidy, but I don't think that'd be possible even in an ideal world, haha.
If you were a piece of jewelry what would you be and why? Oooh, I don't know. I'd like to think it'd be something unique and vintage :D And something with rubies in... I really like them. I like red because it's such an emotional colour. I know I said up there that pink is my favourite colour, but I tend to think of pink as just one of the many shades of red.
From the Manga (Firstly can I just say... I've only read the first two volumes so I don't know who quite everybody is yet [not that I'm saying don't vote me as somebody newer, I'm just saying don't tell me huge spoilers XD]. I can't wait for the third. I guess I could find some scanlations online but real books are nicer than reading off the screen!)
Who is your favorite character and why? I really like Hachi. She's cute and funny and she makes the most adorable faces XD
Who is your least favorite character and why? Hmm, I'm not sure. I like all the characters I've met so far.
Your favorite pairing? And why? Jun and Kyosuke... I like how grown-up and drama-free their relationship is. Not that I don't like drama, it's just nice to see a relationship that isn't angsty for a change!
Your favorite relationship? And why? It has to be the the relationship between the two Nanas... I really like the way that even the differences between them fit together, if that makes any sense at all!
