Day 11 - A drama that disappointed youA drama can disapppoint me in some different ways... it can be boring and slow (most of kdrama I tried watching fits this category... look at my drama list for titles ^^ ); it can be an adaptation unfaithful to the spirit of its original work (a book, a manga, whatever... titles like Honey and Clover, Cat ( Read more... )

I didn't watch the drama for Honey and Clover, but I thought that the movie was boring. I stuck to it just to listen to Aozora Pedaru at the end, haha. I wonder if the original story was supposed to be like that, I duno xD

What can I say... the original story, Hachimitsu to clover by Umino Chika, is AWESOME. It's a really mature slice of life seinen, I totally adore it.
The movie version was cute, I didn't find it boring at all. Not total loyal to its original manga but decent and with a good cast. (but I don't think a story like Hachikuro can be summarised in a 2 hours movie).
The drama was boring and really far from the original story, I had to drop it at episode 3 because it was full of out of characters (and a shame, my favourite character, Morita, was played by my hatsukoi ;_; )

I guess I found it a little slow moving, and halfway through I didn't understand what was going on. It was kinda 'quiet' too. But many Japanese movies are 'quiet', that's what I noticed.

Japanese movies are "quiet" for sure... a part of them embrace the phylosophy of the slice of life in a pure way... they talk about a certain time in a certain space, like they are talking of a sort of... different dimension. I like this way of narrating stuff so usually I don't find them boring at all.But it's a matter of taste I guess.

As for Hachikuro... I don't know if I can understand the point of someone who can watch it without knowing the manga or at least the anime like you because at that time I watched the anime (it follows the manga pretty strictly and it's awesome as well. I prefer the manga for some little things but the anime is GREAT) and I was reading the manga... so I was aware of the original story. It's always different when you have a form of comparison... you notice different stuff ^^

(my icon is from the manga btw ^^ )

2. parte subito moscio e scemo. E tale resta. Non so neanche io come ho fatto a vederlo tutto.

A volte recita in meraviglie altre volte in schifezze cosmiche.

I love HachiKuroba original and i was disappointed with drama too, but i was disappointed with movie even more. I have to say, besy Hagu was Chiaki Ito from AAA in Taiwanese version. I saw only one ep to see how Chiaki looks in Taiwanese drama and she seriously was sooooooooooooo Hagu-chan <3.
As for Cat Street i liked drama version and as for Last Friends i really liked that drama too, but i thought last ep were weird too.

I instead this that Aoi Yu was a cute Hagu. But more than the casting, I loved the atmophere of the movie because I think it's the kind of slice of life faithful to the original manga.
I have no idea of a taiwanese version... I can't bring myself to watch a taiwanese drama, I always drop them.

Cat Street was awful, both in acting and story, nothing was related to the manga... and I had to force myself to even finish the first episode, so boring...

Last Friends is science fiction as I said. When they had their supposed lesbian with a desire to change sex... they jumped their shark and never came back.

Well, for me movie was only disturbing XD. And as art student i was like 'wtf' becuse i was really disappointed in "art" they made. As for drama it was created in more artistic way, that's why i prefer drama atmosphere, i noticed that while re-watching first ep.

Well, i really like Kimura and Katsuji's Ryo acting so i enjoyed Cat Street.

I'm AAA fan and i really love Chiaki so i had at least check how her Hagu turned out and i only watched some parts of to check that~~ But even looking at that pic i could tell she could be good as Hagu: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/62/2008TIBE_Day2_Hall2_MightyMedia_Honey_and_Clover_Signing_Guests.jpg
