Bend me, Break me

Jun 08, 2007 15:25

I had just started to doze off into sleep when an almost silent click awoke m e.
I laid there, trying to remain still so the person entering my room thought I was really asleep.

"Gah!!!"
I gasped as a pair of ice-cold feet on my legs caused me to jump, and ultimately fall, out of the bed.
His face, covered in strands of raven-black hair, peered cautiously over the edge of the bed and looked at me with a worried expression.
"Gomen ne.... Are you okay?"

As I rubbed the back of my head with my hand, I glanced up at the figure in my bed.
"Aoi, what did I tell you about sneaking into my room at night? Especially when you've been wandering around without socks on your feet. Jeez..."

I tried to push myself up, but hit my head on the nightstand behind me.
"Itaiyo!!!"

Aoi  jumped out of the bed and helped me up.
"That's one nasty bump... I'll go get you some ice."

He came back just as quickly as he left, carrying an ice pack from the freezer and gently put it on my head.
He picked me up, put me back on the bed, and helped me lay down.
I began to close my eyes, but a cold hand on my cheek made me shudder slightly and I opened my eyes again.
"Don't fall asleep. It's not a good thing right now..."

"Sleep is a good thing..."
My eyes began to close again, but those ice-cold fingers once again caused my eyes to open.

"Not if you have a concussion. You could fall asleep and never wake up. And then where would I be? What would I do without you?"
He began to stroke my cheek with those imitation-satin fingers.
Those COLD fingers.
My skin began to tighten and tingle under his touch.
I reached up and gently grabbed his hand, pulled it away from my face, and tried to sit up.
"Jeez... why are you always so... so cold? Aoi, honestly. I keep telling you, you need to--"

Suddenly, I was tasting metal... metal and... Aoi.
A sweet but sour taste....
A hand was on the back of my head, and another around my waist... pulled me in... and a weight pushed me down.
His lips traveled down my neck, while his hands stroked my sides.
My body shuddered from the sudden attack of cold fingers on my stomach.
His hands... under my shirt.... the satin-like touch of his fingers against my skin...
He finally coaxed a small, quiet moan from my lungs as his lips brushed over my collarbone and the bottom of my neck.

But... something was causing my mind to think of the past....
I gently pushed him away and turned my head to the side.

He hovered over me, looking at me.
"What's wrong...? Is your head hurting...?"

I turned my head back and looked at him sleepily.
"...No...it's just..."

He listened quietly, a look of questioning painted on his delicate face.

A year ago:

I opened the door and went into my apartment. He followed me silently, carrying his guitar in its case, and a large, black backpack.
"Look, I'll only let you stay here if you stay in the guest room. I'm not one to get personally involved with my boss's clients. Especially the guitarists."

He glanced into the room to the left of the kitchen.
It was clean.
almost too clean for his taste.
"It's so... not like you to keep a room this clean, Saki-chan. Especially from the current state of your desk back at the studio."

I turned around and glared at him.
"I've told you before, none of that 'chan' crap. You know I hate that."
I took off my coat and hung it up in the hall closet, and then turned to face him, but I backed up quickly and my back hit the wall.
"His beautiful, yet wild eyes were inches away from my own.
"Hey! Out of my bubble! I told you about the bubble, Shiroyama--"

He turned around and picked up his guitar, but turned his head and grinned at me.
"Just wait and watch. I'll break you of this clean, planned out life one day, Saki. I'm even going to give you a nickname that only you and I will know of."

He set his guitar down in the guest room and came back out.
"And guess what? I've already figured out that nickname. I'm going to start calling you 'bunnae', whether you like it or not. And call me Aoi."

Present:

Aoi looked down at me with passionate eyes.
"...It's what, Saki?"

I reached up and put my hand on the back of his neck.
"...you finally broke me, Aoi...."

His lips twisted into a compassionate grin.
"I told you I would.... bunnae."
