That could have gone much worse, but somehow what I expected was a more polite refusal. The, er, townspeople seem so happy most of the time, so it was unsettling seeing them glare like that. Especially in a place of worship.
But I suppose it would be sacrilegious to them to let me use it sometimes. I can see how my request would be seen as rude... I should apologize tomorrow. Namusan!

I noticed before long that my magic no longer works, and it seems Mayfield is responsible for that. But that just gives me more reason to ask a few questions...
I heard a commotion over several people dying in a terrible fire very recently... but then I met one of them, revived. Does that really happen to everyone here? How bad can a place be if it can reverse death?
