For a Friend.

Feb 08, 2005 02:02

A quick improv poem I wrote as a dedication to a friend. With a little revising, I'm going to add this to my list-of-lyrics-to-turn-into-songs. Anyone who's felt this way can relate (obviously). This is one of my darker writings. Very out-of-character for those who know me. Enjoy. (Also note a new record: updating LJ for three straight days. UNPRECEDENTED!)

Temporary Title: Betrayal
by Henry Nam

I’m going to take my hands
And crush you with the weight of all my emotions.
I will bury you in the sands
And drown you in the poison of these potions.

I’m so jealous,
Why were you picked?
My dedication was so zealous!
But now I sit here licked.

I know you were the better choice
I knew that in advance.
But couldn’t you have listened to my voice
And just given me a chance?

They say they understand, they say they know.
I know it’s probably true but I don’t want to believe it.
I raise my right hand: the blood stains the snow.
I was given my clue and that’s what caused this fit.

All my anger, all my torment,
All my rage, all my agony,
All my fury, all my sorrow,
I pass out now and merely wait for tomorrow.

I’m so confused.
The answers are all there.
The sadistic are amused
With this sadness I can’t bear.

Don’t worry about me, worry about you.
Be frightened of just what I’ll do to you.
Your half-alive body cast out, becoming rotten
Your existence obliterated to the point you’re forgotten.

You said you’re my friend.
I gave you my trust.
How quickly it came to an end:
Opting betrayal through lust.

Revenge! Revenge! That’s all I want now!
I don’t care where, I don’t care how.
Speeding through my mind; everything’s out of proportion!
OH WHAT A SICK, TWISTED CONTORTION!!!

I forgive you.
