So Berry's restaurant here in Fukui is closing. It was one of the only places in Fukui to get a decent burger, mexican chili tacos, and cajun chicken sandwhiches.
Fond memories of Berry's include:
- Going to Berry's after climbing every Friday everynoon with Ben
- Trying to help Miwa get the VAT tax refund on her watch
- Making them bring a pitcher of water to the table... then another... and another. What can I say, I love water?
- The cute waitresses, especially the one that could speak English. Ben and I would always shamelessly flirt with her
- Them playing Weezer and other awesome music
- Finding an overpriced coffee that tasted EXACTLY like Wawa French Vanilla coffe, my favoritest coffee of all time
- Seeing a dude working there with a Mystery hat on :)
- Bouncing Masayo and her friend there for food after climbing (smooth!)
- The odd memorabilia on the wall such as Beavis & Butthead dolls, NiN tour posters, and a bathroom full of band posters that reminded me of the radio station at UofR.
My final Berry's meal consisted of a cajin chicken sandwhich (for old times sake) and a coffee which I thought was the French Vanilla coffee but it wasn't :(. Dee and I also chatted up a booth of two cute girls sitting behind us and got their numbers, which is always fun. It was funny, we switched tables, and the waitress brought our waters over, thus locking us in and helping with the nanpa. Thanks waitress chick!
Goodbye Berry's, how I will miss you.
