Well, I couldn't find On the Plurality of Being either, not even at amazon.com or on google. I think you're definately right though that Parmenides didn't write it. Parmenides thought that everything was always constant, never in a state of flux. It sounds like a stupid idea to me to but Bertrand Russell defends both the pros and cons of the argument pretty articulately in his History of Western Philosophy. I'd go on ahead and quote from the book and sound real smart and all except it's in TN so you'll have to check it out yourself. Not to say that Russell is exactly an impartial observer, but it's an interesting, thorough, well-researched read nonetheless. There is some great quote about Parmenides in Joyce's Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, something about how he is a philosopher who thinks that the human soul is a bucket of water. Again, I'd quote it but the book is in TN so look it up yourself.
