I understand more than you can imagine. I've had the same problem with depression, and nothing helps. I've taken medication for it off and on for the past couple of years, and even that doesn't help. It generally makes me kinda bitchy toward certain people, I have little patience with everything, and I'm virtually unable to do any kind of school work. Like you, this cycle (lasting most of this semester) has been the worse since I was in middle school. I think I'm coming out of it now that the end is in sight (providing I pass that stupid east asia course). Is it easy for you to turn to people for help during these cycles? It isn't for me. If it is for you, I hope you can do it to get the support system you need during the next one. And keep reminding yourself - they are cycles. They are bound to end. If it seems like one is not ending or at least lightening, then it might be good to see a counselor. Drinking does help, and could lead to a dependency (it's why I don't drink when I'm depressed - alcoholism runs in my family ( ... )

I wish I could do so much more Sarah than just write these damn voiceless and emotionless messages on a forsaken Online Blog, but everytime I try to IM or call or anything...Someone up staris has different plans and you are away, my phones doesn't work ( ... )

Thank you for mentioning this for Sarah and anyone else reading this. It is so true! Suicide is difficult enough to deal with, without knowing the person did it while high or drunk and not able to think clearly. Plus they make you even more down. While that may seem comforting, it's only a short term comfort.
