Which was too bad, as if a man did, she'd tell the truth and say Yes, and give the smile that went with the full, giddy feeling of standing on a battlefield, just after the fighting's done, and realising all over again that she was still alive, still standing, still capable of anything.

...and that man would promptly shit himself.
