The protests about granting Tsahiur command of Tomorbataar's subgroup as well as his own had lasted exactly as long as it'd taken for Muunokhoi to properly introduce himself to his raiding party. Then the old men got quiet and the young men started grinning fit to rival Tsahiur or Muunokhoi himself.

I love the implications in this.

An explosion rocked the whole sledge before he could ask a third man--the raiders bent their knees and rode it out with the ease of far, far too much exposure to Tsahiur, while the Russians went tumbling like knucklebones--and he grinned wider.

They really are glorious together. Not comfortable, no. But glorious.

Thank you. :) I do, too, and love that it's implications and not spelled out. >.>

Oh, yes. Wonderful and terrible and amazing. Makes me wonder what they might have managed with more numbers (especially if the more numbers didn't interfere with the friendship they managed to pull off along with each other's hair. >.>).
