his reading (or attempting to write, for that matter) always makes me think that he's too damned young to be so DRY, but he doesn't care, and also it's really fucking cute.

Ordinarily that wouldn't even have interrupted the paragraph, let alone the book,

*giggling* which says something.

I had to remind myself that he wasn't being a sidhe asshole trying to direct my attention to something with gestures once they'd worked out I was headblind.

they do fail at gestures, it is known. they always seem to go overboard and ridiculous and awkward. =\ also, aedra sympathizes.

whole para of describing aodh's tenuous relationship with language made me sniiiiicker. and, yeah, harrier does tend to clam a lot of things. =p

also: Sleep deprivation would make you claim just about anything, to be fair to Harrier. Which I didn't like to be, but I was still a vaneo and I wasn't supposed to be recording Eternal Rivalries until I was at least a hundred and thirty. Or equivalent

bwah.

sofa love! =D he recalibrates it! *delight*

stolen and exploded. *cackle* mages can be very hard on their furniture. or other people's furniture.

i like the lack of concern about the cobwebby fireball. for most people, flinching's involuntary.

*nodnod* i kinda suspected that whole uncontrolled opening period of time would've sucked, even if they were trying to be kind/careful about the shutting down, as opposed to being in combat.

I didn't need to make room for him--the couch was long enough for Strider to nap on without putting his feet up--but it was polite.

hee. social rules of politeness that are obeyed whether they entirely made sense or not. <3

I consulted my internal clock, found his designation technically true but only just barely, and only here instead of back in Nidavelir. "Hi," I said back.

*snerk* there is no pedantic like an opener.

I tried to reply with one of Trap's you-limited-jaeve stares. I missed,

CUTE.

Staying with Strider meant sharing space with his vaneos, and while Molatova's okay, the other one . .

nnnh. otoh, i'd love to see him tagging along with strider too.

I replied with grin number six as I pulled down the two journeyman exercise books I'd been planning to try to work through before I saw Dutch again. I wasn't supposed to have them yet, so I'd been hoping to get the drop on him. "The Vík's place is way too cold?"

too many details that give me joy. will get back to you later.

"The numbers shift every time I try working 'em over,"

yeah, i haven't detected a pattern for heat okay/good vs all cold all the time myself.

my last ping had had him still on the couch, and I hadn't heard him move.

quick fox is quick.

ah, right, Kim, the great game. that's so appropriate.

bwaha. more cars!

awww. only aodh would build a slice of swamp in the tub for the kid's giant dragonfly. <3

"Who else's 'round him?" he inquired through a cloud of fragrant smoke, and I blinked.

wise. yes.

i like that one gets the impression that there's a series of questions and confirmations going on over yasha's head, without either of them really saying anything.

Aodh grinned at him, fox-sharp. "You, too." Then he hugged me, hard for a second before his touch softened, ruffled my hair again, and faded out while I was trying to punch him in the chest.

<3

Dutch gave me the blank this-question-is-outside-parameters stare for four clicks, then snickered at me while i scowled. "Nope," he told me cheerfully.

*chuckle* ah, no, he's not going to tell you, if aodh didn't/won't.

I think it came down to dry or some sort of nervous breakdown and he went for the first.

Well, really, if he was going to stop reading whenever Aodh set something on fire he'd never get any reading done!

--'s not something I would've guessed at, that Yasha and Aedra could actually kinda bond over the whole fuckin' headblind thing.

(Aodh protests his grip on language is perfectly solid! Niamh says sure, if you assume slightly drunken Trickwood longshoreman is a respectable dialect.)

I love that apparently Eternal Rivalries came up.

Of course he recalibrates it! :D

(I want to know wtf happened to Santiago's horses. O.o;)

He pinged it--it's not going to hit him or anything he cares about, why flinch? Srsly, wtf is with you limited jaeves? (Watching Aodh throw something past him while he fails to flail is pretty funny, apparently. Especially if other people duck.)

I kind of love it took him this long to notice getting a door collapsed on him would contribute to a mini-migraine. (Also, did I spell paidsleiker right? 's been driving me NUTS.)

Quick fox is quick. And helpful! See? He made sure nobody would get hungry!

Aodh and Dutch could probably hold whole conversations with mere eye contact at this point. Mutual sleep dep is fun.

I'm not sure Dutch knows exactly what's up with Aodh's family--he might do, it might not have come up, as yet. (The yelling when Yasha finds out is going to be hilarious. Especially when he starts sulking about his books being full of LIES about what royal families are supposed to be like. First Stone, then THIS.)

figured he might run into him as aedra tries to whip the olfridulfr into shape. they're not the only two headblind folks in the war-wolves pack, and aedra probably registers as a bit more remote on that end of the story, especially because he knows he has to scare them into compliance on certain levels, but that's one of the areas on his list of things to figure out work-arounds on. (which in the end, is probably a good thing he was already pointing in that direction anyway, as post-collapse, they'll be dealing with a lot more humans and headblind fae.)

a legitimate dialect it may be, but i suspect the respectable part is a long time coming. =p

glass might've had a series of "let me show you my monkey relationship data collection!" moments. besides, roadmaps for someone new to the game might come in handy. =D

I want to know wtf happened to Santiago's horses. O.o;

i'm sure he wanted to know that too! he seems to have recovered them (most of them? *peeers*) and thankfully they weren't exploded either.

Srsly, wtf is with you limited jaeves?

*gigggggling* oh yasha.

yep, you spelled it right, and it is really wrongly funny and probably "....." inducing from the outside, but i could see it. i mean, sometimes it just takes time and a lot of hindsight for things like that to click. gods know it's happened to me enough. =p

oooh yes. but it's also very entertaining to read about. and hey! a new super power! this is even BETTER than telepathy. =D

*nodnod* things that dutch may or may not know could fill volumes (and drive other people nuts.) the mage information cold war climate involves a fair share of automatic habitual obfuscation. (omg the yelling. i'd like to see that, too. *cackle*)
