The i-Pod has just gotten around to Sally Roger’s “Where the Coho Flash Silver.” When I was much younger, I had a record player, and the rule was that at bedtime, I could either listen to half hour of radio, or I could listen to one side of an LP.
“Circle of the Sun,” side B was one of my favorites. It starts with “Where the Coho Flash Silver.” Sally was one of the first performers that made me want to become a folk singer. Having her come up on random reiterates the first statement of my last post.
It’s a beautiful day to be glad in.
I have been a terrible correspondent, I apologies. I have been living a dream I only partly knew I had. Married life is suiting me well, and my musical group, Rogues and Wenches, will be releasing our first CD within the next few months. My performance skills have been improving steadily over the past few years. This last year at Minot being a troll was, without question, my best year yet as a performer. I am looking forward to saying the same this spring at the Renaissance fair.
Shannon is a truly encouraging and inspiring partner. She is freeing me to be me, and the possibilities that that provides seem to have no end. I don’t know where I will be in 10 years, but I am pretty sure that the next 18 months will see me recording my first solo album, a dream I have had since I sat in bed listening to Sally Rogers sing “Where the Coho Flash Silver.
(Vasco, Cat Empire just popped up)
