brain tumors ex_carty921 April 30 2002, 11:33:22 UTC
hi...
none of my business, but i'm curious if you've had the CT Scan (or MRI) and if so, if you've heard the results? i came across your journal, because we have "brain tumor" in common on our lists of stuff. i got diagnosed with a brain tumor in May of '98 (malignant one, in the left temporal lobe... it was about the size of lemon). i'd had weird stuff going on prior to the CT Scan, and i'd even had doctors tell me it was just anxiety attacks, or drug flashbacks (i've been sober 10 years last january, but had heavily abused just about everything all through high school, college, etc). i remember saying to a friend... "well, it might be a brain tumor," not really wanting to believe it. they finally diagnosed it as a tumor in the left temporal lobe after a CT Scan.

anyway... after all kinds of diagnostic exams, surgery, and radiation (and tons of prayer, meditation, accupuncture, natural medicines, etc)... i'm still here... still kickin' it.... but, of course, i'm hopin' you don't have a brain tumor. numerous problems have symptoms you describe, so don't panic until you have to. :) if i can help in any way... please let me know.

here's a link to some details about a clinical trial i was in... there's a shot from one of my MRI's there... and you can see the chunk of my brain that's missing since surgery (makes for great excuses whenever i don't feel like doing something - heh heh):

i've left out some of the kookier details (like Mayo doing an angiogram where they chemically shut down my brain, one half at a time, to try and gather the possible consequences of surgery... wooooweee was that fun! NOT!).

anyway... my prayers are with you.
