Got anything to say (questions, concerns, concrit) in regard to how I play this shota lord? Feel free to comment here! Also cool for plotting and all that whatnot if you can't get my by my usual handles. If you are giving me concrit, just please do be gentle with it since Ciel is a character I'm not very used to. |D
CHARACTER INFORMATION
Canon Character: Ciel Phantomhive
Series: Kuroshitsuji / Black Butler
In-Game Name: Ciel Phantomhive
Age: 12
Gender: Male
Ship: The Amestris
Position: Coordinator
Appearance: True to his title as the Earl, Ciel carries himself in a way that is reminiscent to most other adults of his title. In accordance to his position as the head of the Phantomhive family, the boy usually goes about dressed in some rather impeccable clothes - mainly the clothes of a fine gentleman such as suits, tailcoats, dress shirts, finely tailored pants, cravats, capes and top hats and so on and so forth. He's a bit on the scrawny and small side for his age, and his skin is also notably pale as he doesn't tend to go out a lot. His hair - dark blue, just a few shades darker than his bright cerulean eyes - is combed down neatly, bangs covering most of his right eye along with an eyepatch that covers said eye. Despite his fine boyish looks, there's never really a smile or laugh coming from him - more often than not, all the smiles that Ciel gives are either artificial, cynical, superior and even fake.
Due to events of the past, Ciel has two things on him that he does not desire to show anyone - one is the brand that was ironed onto his back when he was younger while enslaved, and the other would be the pentacle that's inscribed into the eye he hides under his eyepatch: the sign of the Faustian contract he has engaged with the demon now known as Sebastian. He ensures to hide the both of them well, and will not show them - especially the brand of his past - unless wholly necessary.
Personality: Anyone who meets the (in)famous young Earl Ciel Phantomhive for the first time might quite easily find themselves taken aback by how this seemingly young boy acts - despite his age, anyone could say that Ciel is quite perhaps, an adult stuck in a child's body. Ciel carries himself in a way that others his age do not, maintaining nothing but the strictest sort of professionalism anyone would never be able to image from a boy like him. Though he is young in age, Ciel's way of thinking can be said to be very much like an adult's (maybe tinged with just the slightest bit of childishness) - cold and calculating and possibly even cruel at times. If anything, Ciel's a Boy With A Mission, and he won't let anything get in his way - everything in his life has simply pinpointed down to his sole mission of obtaining revenge for the ones who destroyed the life he once lived in. To that effect, he's made himself into the boy that he is now, and while its not exactly the life of glamour he had dreamed of in earlier years, its a life he must take in order for him to get what he wants.
In accordance to his serious and highly ambitious demeanour, Ciel has a penchant for playing games such as chess or checkers - games that require him to think, to calculate, to plan... things that he always needs to do constantly. He doesn't play them for sport or for leisure; its one of his ways to ensure that his mind is always sharp and certain, to never falter no matter what the odds are as he strives towards his goal. He doesn't allow himself the leisure of fun or joy - things that kids like him should do, as he considers himself highly above them and possibly even highly above most adults too due to what he has experienced. It can be said that Ciel looks down on most adults; he has an inherent distrust of them as well as authority figures, and nothing irks him more than adults who do nothing in their lives and instead simply lives with their vices. For those who've proven themselves to be nothing but incompetents, Ciel only shows nothing but contempt and annoyance - even those who prove themselves to him will have a hard time getting into his books. There's only a few people who have that honor - one or two of them being the only adults he allows himself to rely on, though Ciel loathes to admit it aloud.
More than anything, Ciel absolutely detests being treated by the adults like the child that he supposedly is - in the life that he's lived in, the boy would very much prefer to been seen as an equal in the eyes of the adults, and he would do whatever is in his power in order to prove that. People might say that this is a way of getting attention, but Ciel knows better than that; attention is not what he seeks - it is approval, and the almost childish need for people to get his point. He is still a child, no doubt, but the way he acts is all of a result of an incident that ruined his life had he knew it just roughly a few years ago, where he was forced to experience first-hand the darkest sides of the human race. Its because of this that Ciel was forced to change, changing for his once happy and cheerful self hidden from the continent at large into the cynical and serious boy that everyone sees now.
However, that's not to say that Ciel is nothing but a heartless beast - he's still the child he once was, and there are times where he does show it. It's not something he reveals so easily however, and its only to those he considers close to him then does he allow this hidden side of him to show: the young and bright boy who once thought of nothing but the goodness of the life he lived in. He does care for the people who are close to him (mainly his employees and his... fiancée, for a lack of a better term) but due to the changes within him Ciel isn't very good at displaying his emotions - most of the time, he might just be seen as emotionless even when forced to face with danger. He's simply quite good at hiding his feelings... or maybe perhaps, he is just too good at doing it.
Abilities/Weapons: There's really not much of abilities to speak of - being only so young, the only real thing Ciel has is his incredibly sharp and calculating mind; he's a rather good strategist, and he prides himself for it. He also has knowledge on fencing and firing a gun, though he doesn't work with them too much due to his naturally weak build. He's more of brains rather than brawn, though perhaps the biggest ace up his sleeve is the demon in contract to his services - the butler who serves him, the demon now currently known to all as Sebastian Michaelis.
How well can your character hack?: Up to Easy, at best - Ciel's never one to like poking around (much), and coupled with his age he doesn't have that much patience to do things like these. He has much better things to do. :|
Weaknesses: Due to the events that had happened to him, Ciel has a natural inclination to distrust all adults who do not have his respect - this disagreeable nature had always made it hard for others to try and connect with him, though considering his position it is perhaps possibly for the best. He doesn't intend or wish to connect with anyone unnecessary, and would rather keep his distance from them - one could say that it is perhaps, a self-defence mechanism for him as more than anything, Ciel doesn't wish to re-live the pain of losing those close to him once more.
In addition, the boy has an unnatural hatred for almost all criminals, mainly because of what had happened to him personally - he hunts them down on his watch as the 'Little Guard Dog of Ivona' with an almost abnormal passion, and doesn't stop until the person is behind bars - or dead while trying to put that person in there. Its something that's very easily made use of with the right push and tug, and even Ciel himself is aware of it - that that certainly doesn't stop him from his duty. He also suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD, though it is not diagnosed, as Ciel doesn't take to visiting psychologists). Despite the fact that he fully understands the consequences of the post he takes up, to this day Ciel is still easily haunted by the traumatizing memories of what happened to him all those years ago; they're trigged when he's made to see gruesome acts of violence, and while he knows better than to let it affect it, there are still instances where the vivid memories can leave him weak from a number of effects like sickness or paralysis.
Being but a child with an exceptionally scrawny and small build (and also diagnosed with asthma, though its rare nowadays), Ciel isn't in any way strong, nor is he capable of being able to defend himself. He does know some fencing and can fire a pistol with necessary, but with his stature and strength just about anyone can take him down quite easily. He's also allergic to cats, and is prone to sneezing constantly when he is near one.
And like any other child though, he also has his vices - sweets and tea, in his case.
History: The Phantomhives haven been synonymous with the title of Ivona's 'Guard Dog' ever since anyone could remember. Dated all the way back to the formation of the nation, the Phantomhive family have always been charged with the duty of taking up arms against those who 'cannot be judged by the law' - the greedy and the corrupt and the ones who have always managed to constantly escape what the law tries to deliver and can no longer be righted. Justice would always be there to serve what is rightfully theirs... even if it was to be done by the ones who had already damned themselves. Even from those days, the Phantomhive family was regarded with much secrecy and a while lot of scrutiny. To the outside, they were merely the mysterious Phantomhives; to the inside, they were the black sheep of the nobles, the figurative wolf in sheep's clothing.
But despite all of this, Ciel Phantomhive managed to live a normal, happy, peaceful life. Born the sole heir of the family to his parents Vincent and Rachel Phantomhive, from young Ciel in a life that would be envied by many - doting parents, a good and easy life and just about everything a child like him could have ever wished and asked for. Life was good, calm, and nice, and Ciel couldn't have asked for more.
However, that all changed on the day of his tenth birthday; the Phantomhive Estate was under an arson attack started by people unknown, and both of Ciel's parents were murdered during this attack. Ciel himself on the other hand was spared from death - but would instead find himself thrown into a fate that would be far worse than death. Caught and taken away by the same people who instigated the attack, the boy found himself made into a slave and a sacrifice for a cult ritual by an unknown group even to this day. It was clear, however, that the next year for Ciel would be the most terrible part of his short, short life. Locked in a cage, Ciel was made to go through unspeakable tortures and humiliations - branded on the back by a glowing hot iron and treated as nothing but an animal. Even until now Ciel himself isn't certain how he managed to survive back then, but survive he did, and as the days passed his hatred for his torturers began to fester.
It was in one such of these torture sessions did Ciel lose control of himself and called out the first name that came to his mind - Sebastian, the name of his dog who had been lost in the fire that destroyed his family. His desperation, coupled with the extreme hatred he possessed for his captors resulted in the summoning of a demon into the scene. The demon gave Ciel an offer then - it would help the boy grant his freedom and aid him in the desire of his revenge, in exchange for the fact that he would give it his soul at the end of his life. With nothing else left to lose for him, Ciel agreed to the offer, and thus the demon was bound onto his service.
Ciel's first command after the formation of the contract was for the demon to kill every single person in the room he was in.
Once that was done, the demon brought out Ciel to safety, where then the boy gave the demon the name that everyone would know him by - Sebastian Michaelis, butler of the newly reformed Phantomhive Estate and family. Slowly recovering his losses from what was once his simple, perfect life, Ciel returned to Bellcius with Sebastian, establishing the name of his family once again and starting to bring up what had once been burned down to the ground. In order to regain his wealth, Ciel started up the Funtom Company, a local importer as well as exporter (and manufacturer) of toys and other assorted children's items such as candy and snacks. While he did that, Ciel was also charged with the burden of continuing the age old tradition of being Ivona's infamous guard dog as there was nobody left in his family - but still, it was a duty Ciel took up without complaints and continues to accomplish with Sebastian's aid, despite the losses he may have incurred while fulfilling this duty.
One of these such losses was the fate of his aunt Angelina Durless - otherwise better known as Madam Red. One half of the notorious Jack the Ripper that haunted Bellcius's lower districts for the longest time, Ciel was forced to put an end to her crimes when the murders became something that even the media couldn't just ignore. While the tabloids have proclaimed her as legally dead, her true fate is something that only a few select people are aware of - Ciel being one of them, and he would rather not talk about her especially when she is simply something of a past he does not look back to.
For a while, Ciel had sent Sebastian out onto a certain ship called the Fiertia in order to observe what they were doing in accordance to the orders he had received from some of the Parliament; Sebastian returned from time to time, but he did make a full return when the ship disbanded after their captain Yuri Lowell had been captured and subsequently freed. A few months passed after all of that, and just when he thought all would be well Ciel once again received a new set of orders: to board upon the newly-commissioned ship Amestris, the product of a hope for international cooperation. Even though it was captained by an Ivonian captain, Parliament still had their doubts and so sent the young boy onboard, in order to observe what went upon the vessel and report anything if it was deemed traitorous or hurtful for the nation of Ivona - and do deal with it if it was required as his title of the 'Little Guard Dog of Ivona'.
