2008 MLS start of season predictions

Look for a two team race out west between Chivas USA and Houston Dynamo. LA will NOT have their shit together, if at all, until close to august. Dallas will find a way to truck on without Ruiz (he didnt do shit last year anyway) but Chivas and Houston will be too powerful for anyone else to really come out of the west with the most points. I love my FCD but i dont have enough faith in them to do better than 6th or 7th in overall league standings.

The closest race of points is going to be out east where i can almost guarantee that DC is going to finish with the top points out east with revolution a close second. Of course, new york and chicago are going to be right behind them. My only thing is that chicago has to get used to a new coach and while osario is going to be great for the red bull, he's too defensively minded for such a heavily offensive team.

8 playoff teams: (in order of seed)
1. Chivas USA
2.DC United
3.Houston Dynamo
4.New England Revolution
5. Chicago Fire
6. Red Bull New York
7. FC Dallas
8. its going to be a REALLY close race for this spot between LA Galaxy, Colorado Rapids, and (yes, im sayin it) Toronto FC. Too close to call right now.

but this is my pick

Western bracket champ: Chivas USA
Eastern bracket champ: DC United
Supporter's shield (best record): Chivas USA
Champion: Chivas USA

Yeah, i'm heavy on chivas usa. Im not a big chivas fan but they are the most intact from last year and showed that they can really take it to the rest of the league. Dynamo always finds a way to play strong but they lost way too much up front to show this season which i am okay with because i hate them so much. Preki is just as amazing a coach as he ever was a player and knows how to win games. Right now, at this moment---they're my pick to win it all and i mean ALL.

i will re evaluate my predictions at mid season and again right before the playoffs.
