Okay, time for a fresh steaming pile of news. Pretty much you're typical fare here nothing is TOO different from my typical "well I'm still working on this part of the movie" post. So yeah, I'm slugging through the storyboard still, I've been a pretty busy guy as of late, in the process of getting ready for a big move at the end of the month. So that'll be consuming a lot of my time over the next month.
This weekend however, I'm going to try and focus on the storyboard, which leaves for the rest of the weekend being dull and me pretty much in a hermit stage, but I figure a lot of aspects of this project will have to call for that.
At any rate, things are still kind of tentitive agreement, I've spoken to at least one band to let me use some of their music for the film. Nothing is official yet of course, and at this point in time I'll have to leave it at that. I will say that the lead singer though it was a pretty cool idea. So things look good. But before I can get anyone to commit to anything like that I have to write up the appropriate paperwork.
And let me tell you: writing contracts, good fun.
Which brings me to the next wonderful little point I'd like to bring up. At the start of this project I figured that I was going to wait on casting the film until after all the animation is done, however I don't think that this is going to be a feasable idea. It would be best if I get the cast I need and the voices recorded before I do any of the animation work started. I realized that perhaps the best thing to do is edit each scene as I finish them and then assemble them all togeather once the project is done.
Process wise, I plan on compiling the individual scenes togeather in Adobe Premiere since I'm more familiar with it, but I think I'd like (and honestly this is a better option) to assemble the film in Avid, on the plus of that I got some connections on how to do that.
But I'm getting ahead of myself here, I'm going to start casting once I'm settled into my new place (So sometime in December) if anyone is interested please keep in mind of the following:
1.) I'm not casting right now, I'm just seeing who is interested in doing any voice acting roles for the film.
2.) You're not doing it for money, because I'm not able to pay anyone. Any money I do get will pay for costs of pushing this thing out there when it's done.
3.) I'm going to have to get you to sign a contract allowing me to use the lines you've recorded in any capacity.
4.) You have to meet my production schedule (Which isn't too hard really since everything is so loose right now.)
5.) You have to be serious about it. I've had my fill of people saying they want "in" on a project but don't have time for it. I'm not going to dick around with anyone who's going to be a pain in the ass.
6.) In most cases I'm trying to keep my cast local for the time being. A lot of factors involved in that and for me it saves chasing people for a lot of paper work. So if you don't live in Ottawa, Ontario that chances of me picking a voice actor from someplace else is only unless absolutely necessary. So sorry folks. Maybe next time.
So yeah, serious inqueries only, but I won't be picking people until around late December early January anyway.
