Remember long ago when I made a
post about being credited on the "About" popup where I work? And everyone asked about Igor Cherednichenko? Well, he died today after having a heart attack. He seemed like a healthy guy too. He played tennis, he wasn't overweight, and I think he was in his 50's.
I feel that it's an inevitable life experience, having someone you know die. I just didn't expect it to be for no apparent reason. I can't imagine how his family feels right now.
This is how we got the news at work:

All:
Igor Cherednichenko’s family let us know earlier today that Igor had a massive heart attack and is currently in a coma. We are in contact with Igor’s family and will let you know when his situation changes. News like this is hard to understand and harder to reconcile with a guy as energetic and involved as Igor. For those of you that work outside of Emeryville, Igor is a QA Engineer.
Keep Igor and his family in your thoughts. Let’s hope we see him again someday soon.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Subject: The passing of Igor
To all of BigFix:
It is with sadness beyond measure that I must tell you Igor was taken off life support tonight. His family told us he had gotten to a point where it was clear there was no hope. All of us should keep Igor and his family in our thoughts. As we learn more information about any service or memorial, it will be passed along.
Igor was a young man, even in the context of BigFix where youth seems to spring eternal. I remember him playing soccer with such a passion that belied the fact that the very heart that drove him to run around for hours kicking a ball would one day take his life. BigFix is growing up. We have experienced birth and death, sickness and hopefully continued health. It is a cliché to say this is all a part of life. Regardless, it doesn’t make this make anymore sense, at least not now.
Whether you knew Igor or not you should know he was an important piece of our 153 person puzzle.
Rest in peace, Igor.
