Abilities:
Even when Agni was still known as Arshad he possessed great physical strength however it wasn’t until he found spiritual enlightenment that he truly reached his potential. Having already learned a variety of Indian martial arts such as Kalaripayattu and Silambam, he was able to expand on those methods by becoming more dedicated and concentrating on his newfound goal in life. Agni is quite agile and swift, even able to keep up with a demon. His duties as Soma’s khanasama require he not only act as a bodyguard for his master, but also a butler and cook. Consequently, he is also distinguished in the field of cooking and cleaning. His patience with others and general positive outlook allows him to help draw out talent in others. For example, he manages to accomplish a feat that the Phantomhive butler can only fantasize about-after speaking to each member of the usually incompetent Phantomhive staff members he was able to get them to work side by side without leading to failure or destruction. Agni is very capable and seems to pick up on new skills rapidly, like in the fencing match with Sebastian he was able to end the match in a tie despite not having fenced prior. He also has enough knowledge about the human body to know just where to strike certain pressure points (or marmans) to temporarily immobilize an opponent. Some of his other abilities:
The right hand of god - Agni tends to keep his right hand bandaged up unless he requires its power. Shedding the bandage suddenly gives him more strength and skill in other areas such as cooking as displayed in the curry contest. Not much information is given as to the origin of this ability, however he only resorts to it when the situation is dire.
Samadhi - This is a form of meditation that puts Agni in a trance like state. The most remarkable visual element to this power is it causes tears of blood to stream down his face. Once activates it makes him impervious to pain. In this state he is not responsive to others, focusing only on the battle at hand.
In order to limit these abilities, Agni certainly wouldn’t have need to use the right hand of god, or the Samadhi trance often. They are only for more extreme cases and used sparingly as they are quite draining.

Before he was given a new name and essentially a second chance at life, Agni was known as Arshad. Born into one of the most renowned castes in India, the Brahman’s, he was able to watch his father abuse his own position. Members of this caste were supposed to be the closest to the gods and dedicated to serving them, however his father used it as a means to live selfishly and extravagantly turning his back on such customs. Although Arshad resented his father’s lifestyle he soon emulated it himself. He lost faith in the gods and committed unspeakable atrocities. During this period he was cruel, uncaring, violent, and filled with hatred. After Soma saved him from the gallows, he became almost an entirely new person with a completely different personality.
Agni is outwardly friendly, humble, and caring. Along with that he is generally softspoken, and easy to approach. Having found a sense of inner peace he wishes for only one thing, to be able to serve his God and Master. If he sees a person in need of assistance or some careful advice, he's willing to listen to their stories and come to their aide. He strives to be a better person, like his master. He's often able to draw out abilities in others they never knew they had.
He's a very capable man, who possesses great strength to go along with it. His strength stems from his faith, and devotion. Despite the fact that he could easily crush opponents in battle he usually tries to hold back, not wishing to cause irreparable damage. Also Agni can get attached to others rather rapidly. He tries to see the good in others which sometimes blinds him to their faults. This is evident when he calls Sebastian a friend despite having known him for only a few days. He’s also too willing to trust others such as when he made a bargain with Meena’s husband that Meena would never display her true nature and loathing for her previous life India as his servant. Meena breaks this bargain quite easily with no regard for said deal.
Aside from his more positive attributes Agni can also appear naive, easy to manipulate, and dimwitted, possibly due in part to English not being his first language. When angered, or he believes someone is guilty of wrong doing he can get serious.

What-is this thing? [The screen is looking directly into someone’s eyeball. The device is pulled backwards giving a clearer view of the Indian. Agni starts turning it this way and that, before pressing one finger to the screen]
If I didn’t know any better I would say it resembles a miniature television set. [His pensive expression suddenly breaks into a wide smile] What wonders will they think of next!
[The communicator however is the least of his concerns. Turning a touch more serious he stopped focusing on the bizarre little object and got back to the task at hand]
Master Soma will be concerned if I have not returned before he wakes. I simply can’t fathom… how I arrived here. This has never happened in the past. Is it possible?
[The scenery, it all seemed like reality.. but was it? He’d never seen a creature like that moogle before. Did they actually exist or were they a figment of his own mind?]
Could I still be asleep… even now?

Agni remembered the previously scene vividly. A sort of darkness had descended upon him. A darkness that even the radiance of his god had not managed to shine through. Thick, pervasive and unending darkness… not to mention the ominous feeling it filled him with. The dream had seemed so real.. so all encompassing. What did it all mean? He would have been content to dismiss it all as some sort of dream but the oddities abounded. Instead of waking in Earl Phantomhive’s townhouse he was outside walking down an unfamiliar street in a quaint looking town. At least it looked like he was still in England, but if he had taken to sleep walking it was more than a little problematic.
The sky was still fairly dark. Perhaps he could find his way back before his master awoke. That would be the ideal scenario however he was growing doubtful of his success. He’d already walked the length of this place twice and there didn’t seem to be any way to leave. It certainly was a quandary. Not allowing himself to get disheartened he decided to ask the next person he saw about the whole affair.
“Excuse me sir,” Agni gave a slight bow,” Might I impose on you long enough to ask you where I am?”.
“Not another one ,” The person sighed. They clearly had no desire to explain everything.
Sensing the reluctance, Agni added,” Please don’t trouble yourself.” His words were sincere and without a trace of annoyance tainting them. Excusing himself he looked for a more willing party. Little did he know it would come in such a small package.
“What in the name of Kali is that!?” Agni exclaimed looking at a round, curious creature. It handed him a communicator, munny, and a hotel key. “Are you certain that you have the right person?” He looked toward the creature however the answers were not forthcoming it seemed a might intimidated.
