But THEN....

After the piss off at H and R block I bussed out to visit my grandparents. It was my grandma's 81st(!) B-day on the 20th, so I wanted to give her B-day hugs. I brought her a purty cyclamen flower to jazz up the joint.

At 81, you really don't need "stuff" so a nice, living plant is pretty sweet. :)
I was relaying my outrage over how EXPENSIVE Hand R block has gotten, when my grandma handed me a cheque for 500 dollars.     :0  :0   :0
I wasn't going to accept it, but grandma INSISTED. And when your German Grandmother insists, well.....you don't argue. She said this was to go towards my schooling anyway, but if it was going to get me out of a tight spot now then I could use it for that. AWWW. See, my grandparent's always wanted me to go to school, but I didn't see the point of wasting money on something I wasn't really interested in. I saw no problem with doing what my parents did. When they tried to say that I didn't have to be like my parents, I guess something got lost in translation and I interpretted that they were looking down on my folks. Which really got my hackles up. Now I can see that is not what they meant at ALL. But I don't regret waiting to further my education, because now I know what I want to do.
Anyway, I am so grateful for their help and also that I've learned to accept help that is gladly offered.

school, money, love, family
