Ithought we were in the clear for rent, but alas! We already called the landlord explaining what happened, and told him that it MIGHT bounce, but he said he put the cheque through the machine and not the teller. Whenever that happens, his bank holds the cheque for 5 days. This has happened EVERY time for the past 6 months.
Not this time.:(
And Harlen got paid enough yesterday to pay rent too. I should have deposited last night, but I'd forgotton my purse at home. I wasn't worried though, I'd thought we had the 5 day grace period.
So on my lunch, I walked over and deposited the amount, only to find the account short by 26 bucks. ?????
When I checked the account I saw that the cheque had bounced last night, and the back took an NSF of 43 dollars. HSJDSJHFDJSHDFUOY! So, because of the NSF charge we are short 26 dollars, can't top it up because we are "broke", Have to write the landlord a new cheque... duuuurrrrrrrrrrrrr. I'm waiting to get paid on Friday, and I'm hoping Harlen gets paid tomorrow or something. I had to leave a lame-ass message on the landlord's voicemail. At least he was aware that it might happen. He was understanding and all, but GEEEZ I was hoping we could beat the hold and clear that cheque!!!
Ah well, nothing can be done about it, so I'll just drink and enjoy my coffee.
