So, I went to the bank on my lunch break, and I was sooo anxious because when I called my bank last night they said I need 3 pieces of I.D. to get a new card (of course) one of those pieces needs to be photo I.D.
My photo I.D. has been expired for four years.
I don't have a driver's license, so you can get a provincial I.D. card. Anyway, I rarely go out places that ask for photo I.D. and I haven't opened a new bank account in 13 years, so when it expired I just completely forgot about it.. The bank supervisor on the phone had said they can refuse to issue you a new card if they are not satisfied with your I.D.
So when I pulled it out at the bank, she paused for a minute, and I could feel my face go all hot, like I was going to burst into tears or something, and I started pulling utility bills and pay stubs and cheques and stuff out of my purse like they were giant clowns piling out of a teeny clown car. She just laughed, and said it's O.K.! You come here on the first of every month to pay your rent anyway, I know you're YOU!
And then she checked my account...and the bank had reimbursed me already! I found out that sooo many other people in the area were skimmed too. Like 3/4 of the staff at the Indigo(Chapters) book store in the mall next door were hit. It must be some retailer in the area. When I was in line, TWO other people came in because they got phone calls from the bank too.
Then I paid my bills
And I'm broke anyway now,LOL.
No, not really it's all good.... and I didn't have to resort to violence of any kind either. :)
