So Many Specimens, So Little Time

[Yet another new world... if Luke was not used to this sort of thing by now, he might have been annoyed or upset. But the sight of people and creatures he had never seen before brought an arrogant smirk to his face, and he had his notebook out, madly recording everything he could see below him as his feet dangled idly over the roof of the building ( Read more... )

[[ooc: XD I'll admit to finding the backstory fics you posted on your fic page, and your crossover!Luke seems very intriguing! I'm still new at RPing on LJ, but I hope I'll be able to make things interesting. Here, have an AU!Sheena- her profile's posted on her homepage if you're interested.]]

[All Sheena heard was an odd crackling sound, like the sound those machines in the Tower of Regeneration gave off after Genis hit them with a lightening spell. The next thing she new, an oddly clothed red head suddenly appeared in front of her. Being the twitchy ninja she is, she swiftly jumped back and armed herself.]

What the-? Who're you?! [No, she not impressed that this stranger could move that fast. She's very, very offen-] And how the hell'd you do that?! [Or maybe not.]

[Luke just glanced at her out of the corner of his eye, the look barely seen over the looped point of his bone mask. Still, it was obvious on his immediate opinion of her; she was insignificant, just like any other human. Still, he would humor her... it was "polite" after all.]

Luke fon Fabre, fraccion to the Octava Espada. [He turned to her, folding his arms loosely over his chest as a bit of a smirk came to his face.] And that was called 'sonido'.

[[ooc: Aw, thanks! And I'm sure you'll be fine. <3 I'm sorry if my initial post wasn't my stellar best; apparently I was posting last night while in a semi-turkey-coma. I don't remember a lot of it. O.o;;; ]]

[After seeing that smirk on his face, Sheena bristled slightly. Another elitist? Like Cruxis wasn't bad enough. But if he was being somewhat decent, she really didn't have any reason to slap a Pyre Seal on him...]

Sheena Fujibayashi, summoner and ninja of Mizuho. [Hey, if he was going to be all fancy with his titles, she would too.] I take it you're also from another world?

[Yeah, see these card-weapons in her hands? There not moving.]

[[ooc: Yay for turkey~! And potatoes! And pie! Lots of pie.... Anyways, it's no problem; I do things I can't remember doing later all the time! I really shouldn't be proud of that...]]

Two, actually, but that is rather irrelevant.

[See him eyeing those cards? See him totally not phased? He may be half dead, and yeah, those cards might tingle a bit, but he's already got a sense of this woman's reiatsu. She was just like every other human he had come across in his journey's between worlds: pathetic.]

And what, pray tell, do they call this world?

Two? Why, did your home-world get destroyed too? [That was odd... All the others she'd met had just been transported from their homes to this place...]

[He might be all confident now, but if that growth on his face meant he was one of the undead, a Demon Seal would definitely hurt. Whether or not she could hit hi- wait, back up a second.] ...Why do you have bone growing out of your face? Or is that just a mask?

Hell if I know; all I've found out from others on this island is that it's not Aselia and it's not Auldrant.

Ah, interesting. You know of Auldrant... that was my first home. Well, before I died, that is.

[casually runs a hand through his hair, resting his fingers on his bone mask.]

Oh, you find this interesting? It is both, actually. All those of my kind possess one like this.

I know of Auldrant because I've run across a few people from there. Do the names Tear or Guy ring any bells?

.... Before you.... died. I... see. [No, she really doesn't, because the only thing she can think of is ex-spheres and inorganic lifeforms.]

Your kind? You don't consider yourself mortal? [Since Aselia had multiple races (elves, humans, half-elves), she's somewhat used to this. Unfortunately, she came to the wrong conclusion.]

Of course; they were my companions in life. [lets out a faint sigh at a brief memory of Tear terrorizing poor Guy on purpose, before he shook it off.]

Immortal? Certainly not, miss. My kind can die again just like any other creature in this existence. However, I am certainly not human anymore. [Well, not very human anyway, but he did not care to specify.]

Your companions... Maybe you should visit them? You know, to let them know you're okay. [Just a little saddened, after all, she has no idea what happened to her friends or if they're even alive...]

Hmm.... [This seems familiar somehow...] Well, if you're not human, and since you don't look very elvish, what are you?

Reply

fonicfraccion November 27 2009, 19:42:48 UTC
...I rather not. I believe it would be kinder for me not to.

[Bad enough one of the many worlds he traveled to he was surrounded by people from Auldrant...]

Elvish? [snorts] I'm hardly something so mythical. I am an arrancar; most of you humans just refer to my kind as 'corrupted spirits'.

worlds_summoner November 27 2009, 19:52:24 UTC
Tch. Better than leaving them constantly in doubt.

Elvish isn't mythical! They exist- er, existed on my world. Grandpa even thought I might be part elvish because I can summon. [Concern and fear pass over her face after she hears Luke describe himself as a 'corrupted spirit'. There used to be stories in Mizuho...] Isn't that painful? Spirits aren't supposed to linger in the mortal realms...

...summon, hm?

[Uh oh, you have his interest now, Sheena. It might have been better for him to keep thinking you were pathetic, if the look he's giving you now is any indication.]

The only thing that's painful is being away from me research. [smirks] Though I may have found something new...

[Self-preservation? What's that?] Well, sort of. After Aselia, my world, was destroyed, the rules... changed.

[Takes a slight step back at sight of smirk. Oh boy, can you say Mithos flashbacks?] ... you're not going to go pathetically insane and attempt to create some world where only you and a bunch of soulless beings exist are you?

[snorts] I leave the creation of worlds to those that insist upon their Godhood. My only interest outside of serving my master is knowledge.

[Luke folding his hands behind his back, giving the woman a, "Why hello there, specimen," look. Ah, pity he couldn't do much of anything at the moment. He was in sore need of a lab as soon as possible.]

Reply

worlds_summoner November 27 2009, 20:07:35 UTC
And would your master be more that slightly interested in Godhood? [She's not intending to offend, just, well... maybe Sheena should watch her tone.]

[Completely misinterprets Luke's look for one of Zelos's. It must be the red hair.] Stop mentally undressing me pervert! [Attempts to smack him; hey, what can I say? Those kind of ingrained habits are hard to break.]

fonicfraccion November 27 2009, 20:11:40 UTC
No, that would be my master's master. I inherit my will for knowledge from Sza--

[And then she says that; what, seriously? He had no interest in a human, least of all her. Her significance was only in this "summoning" she mentioned. Still, he hadn't counted on her being stupid enough to strike him. His face barely moved, and it probably felt like slapping a brick wall.]

...that was most unwise.
