We got fired.

We have been back in Louisiana for a day and I'm ready to get in the car and head back to New York.

Karolyn and Bryan's wedding was, miraculously, on Saturday. I spent the day spontaneously crying out of sheer happiness. It was the most amazing day, wedding or not, and cemented those two darlings in my life forever. I'm serious. They are stuck with me indefinitely.

Also, we stayed with Dor for several days and my mind was refreshed about why I absolutely love Dorothy. I am thanking my lucky stars for all the wonderful people in my life lately and Dorothy pretty much has her own galaxy. Jessica got her first taste of Dorspeak (sleepy/drunk/adorable) in the car after the wedding where Dor ate a series of stolen chupa chups and a gummy hot dog.

It was vibrant and sweltering in the city. The sun bounced off the pavement and threatened to smack us down on a few occasions, but it was pleasing as ever to be there. Seeing everyone at the wedding and beyond was something I really needed right now. Our reception table was awesome and by the end of the night most of our breasts were covered in "Karolyn and Bryan" tattoos and several people had received lap dances.

We took the Crescent line train from NYC to New Orleans. It left much to be desired in the comfort department, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and we had a generally good time.

Yesterday, our first day back at work, Ryan sat us down and gingerly explained to us that the office was shutting down and he couldn't afford our salaries anymore (I will say we are paid far too much). This presents many problems for us, but none of these potentially damaging issues can be overshadowed by one overwhelming fact: WE ARE FREE!!

We are going NORTH! We plan to spend a week or so in Florida at the beginning of August and then we'll be driving to New England.

WARNING: GET READY FOR VISITORS ALL YOU WHO LIVE NORTH OF THE MASON DIXON LINE.
