Best Weekend EVAR.
I know I'm a dork. It's what I do, just leave me to it.
This weekend was Zenkaikon, which is an anime convention that was held Friday night and all day Saturday in the Valley Forge Convention Center. SOOOO MUCH FUN.
On Friday, they didn't have everything set up, so it was more or less a preview for Saturday, and honestly, it was a bit boring. There was a game room filled with tv's and every game system you could possibly want to play. There was also a karaoke room...we kept a good distance from that. But that was about it for Friday. Roommate Kristine decided to play Smash Brothers Brawl against some other con-goers, and while I watched, these two girls ask if they can pull me aside to photograph me!Apparently, my costume was so good, they wanted to do a photo shoot! (They were hired to do this for the convention.) I'll post their pictures later, after the girls post them.
At about 8:30, there was a concert scheduled for a band we'd never heard of: the Slants. We decided to check it out regardless. GOOD IDEA. We had to wait an extra 30 minutes because they took forever to do sound checks, but it was soooooooooo worth it. We were like 2 people away from being in the very front! The singer kept jumping into the crowd, and I guess the hot bassist liked the idea, so he did too. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! He accidentally hit my knuckles with the head of his bass! Awesome.
-Intermission-
Saturday, we got up bright and early to get there before the crowds. We spent a lot of time shopping in the dealer's room, and in the artists' alley. I think next year, Mel's going to buy a table in the artists' alley because she's a really good artist and she could make some easy money that way. There were several artists there who were amazing, and some who had no business being there. =[ Anyway, I got a lot of cool merchandise that I'd otherwise have to buy online or go to Japan to buy. Yay.
After we were done there, Mel, Patrick, and I went to Erica and Carly's house. We watched a movie that we had made together over the summer, which turned out pretty amazing. Afterward, we burned pictures of Zac Effron, Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, and other various celebrities we dislike. Immediately afterward, we did some kind of Crucible-esque dance and pretended to cast the devil on all the people we had burned. Kinda like this. (Carly even sang the song at about 1:22.) Fun times. :P
