My government teacher just told us that all our classes for the rest of the semester are going to be "short and sweet," and that we may not have to take the final depending on what our grade is at the end of the semester. Fuck. Yes.
Redrew the patterns for our weapons the other day. Weather's been good lately, so I'm hoping to be able to get out in the driveway today and at least cut the pieces I need out of my giant sheet of foam board. That's really the hard part, once I've got that done most of the rest of it is just a lot of sanding and shaping. XD
edit: Scratch that "weather's been good" thing. Apparently we're supposed to get rain this afternoon followed by a storm front for the next couple of days. DAMMIT.
Also: props to the Cosplay.com forums for being helpful, because someone gave me a good idea for how to attach the Sculpey piece for Squalo's belt to the actual buckle I'm going to be using :D
In other news. I am worried. See... I got a ticket yesterday. A crap one, too, because it was clearly a speed trap - there were two cop cars and they had two other people pulled over already when they got me - and actually, until right before the guy speed gun'd me I was going the same speed as the rest of the traffic. I sped up to get around the guy in front of me, who kept braking for no reason at all that I could see, and I didn't want to be driving right behind some unpredictable idiot. Then the cop walked out into the street right in front of my car and I barely saw him in time to brake before I ran him over. All my stuff went flying off the backseat. GODDAMN COPS, YOU ALL SUCK.
Anyway, whatever, but the reason I'm worried about it is that it's a $225 fine (and - what the fuck? Seriously?) and... I don't have $225. I mean, I have $114 put aside in cash for Akon, and a bit in my checking account, but... that's it. If my mother makes me pay the ticket out of my own money... I won't be able to afford Akon. I just won't. I won't be able to get the rest of the stuff I need for my cosplays. I won't have enough money to feed myself. I just flat won't have the money. My plan is to volunteer to pay her $250 if she pays it for me now and lets me pay her back after the con. Here's hoping she goes for that. FML.
Also? Computer? Why do you keep turning off my malware protection? I do not understand. Cease and desist. And while you're at it, quit telling my my User Control is off, I know it's off, I turned it off, I want it off. aauuuughhh
