I feel like I've been doing a good job lately of keeping my shit together. I've gotten all my assignments turned in on time, I got a 100 on the math test I took last week, I got a head start last night on the government project that's due Thursday, and I have a load of laundry in the wash upstairs and several more waiting to go in.

This is kind of a major accomplishment for me, because I'm an inveterate procrastinator. I've always been really bad at managing my free time. So the fact that I am managing it - and while being active in a new RP, no less - makes me feel really good about myself.

Doing some more work on the prop weapons today. I put a couple of layers of cheesecloth on the sword with a tacky-glue-and-water mix (like you would papier-mache) last night and today, I bought a big bottle of gesso and I'm starting to apply layers of it. It's super thick, and apparently, you can actually layer the stuff up pretty thick, as well as sand it when it's dry. I hope it works as well as it's supposed to, because the cheesecloth is doing a startlingly good job of supporting the foam board and I'd hate to have to cut that step out.

I still haven't worked out the problem with the foam board being too thick for Belphegor's knives. In case you missed it the first time: I basically need to figure out how to cut the foam board in half through its width. In other words: If I had two blocks of foam board that were 1'x6"x3/4", I would need to cut that into four blocks measuring 1'x6"x3/8". Imagine cutting a book in half through the spine and the pages. I know a hot wire cutter would probably do the trick, but I don't have one, nor do I have the money to buy one. I tried using a jigsaw blade on it on Sunday night and ended up cutting myself instead - the foam board offers up just enough resistance that if my grip slips, I lose control of the blade, so that's not a tactic I'm eager to try again.

So, flist, if y'all have any other ideas, I'd much appreciate it. x__x I'm going to see if my dad can think of anything when he gets home tonight, too.

Okay! I'm going to continue on my pattern of Getting Things Done now by writing my term paper proposal and changing my loads of laundry. Here goes.

school, cosplay, help me flist!, life
