I am making good progress on the Hellsing FST I'm making! I finally have the track list finished, now all I have to do is write the little blurb things for each of the characters and pairings and whatnot. Yay me! I feel accomplished.
So I saw Slumdog Millionaire on Friday night with my mom and was absolutely blown away by it. It was seriously one of the best movies I've seen in a long, long time and everyone should go see it now. A warning, though, which was given to me by my friends and I didn't believe them at the time: Don't bother spending money on popcorn or candy, because you won't eat it. You will lose your appetite within the first fifteen minutes of the movie. Seriously, I didn't even want to open my Peanut M&Ms. The movie is just so intense that I wasn't interested in them at all.
But on that note: the fact that it's so intense is part of what makes it so good, I think. It keeps you very engaged; the way it works is that they show each of the questions he's given on Who Wants to be a Millionaire, and then they show the event in his life that led him to learn the answer to that question - except for the very last one,
which is about the name of the third Musketeer. I had a massive fangirl at the beginning of the movie when they made The Three Musketeers part of the story, because it's one of my very favourite books, and then at the end scene when they said "Porthos, Athos, and... ?" and he didn't know, I was sitting there thinking to myself, ARAMIS! IT'S ARAMIS! CARDINAL RICHELIU IS THE ANTAGONIST AND D'ARTAGNAN IS THE FOURTH ONE AND PLANCHET IS THE SERVANT I THINK IT'S ARAMIS! AAAGHHH!
And then he got it right and I about had a heart attack, oh man.
So anyway. Freaking amazing movie. Deserves every award it's gotten and all the ones it's been nominated for, it's that good. Also - the soundtrack is on iTunes for $8.99! I bought it the instant I got home because it was that great.
So, moving on: Had some happy funtiems at Rusty and Tasha's on Friday night after the movie when I went over there and made them watch volumes 1 & 2 of the Hellsing OVA and made kandi, and Chelsea and Sparks came over and we went to Whataburger at like one am which was a blast. Also, Tasha's cat Cute One did a hilarious thing and jumped no shit like two feet straight up in the air after one of those feather-on-the-end-of-a-stick things. We all fell over laughing. ...This might have had something to do with the amount of THC in our systems.
Worked on cosplay with
hoozilla on Saturday and Sunday. We are making good progress! And they are going to look awesome. We are v pleased with ourselves.
So my mom has this, like. Miniature hot plate thing she keeps in her bathroom that's for keeping her coffee warm, and I asked her recently if she remembered where she got it (she's had it for about fifteen years) so I could get one for myself, for my tea. And it turned out she had an old extra one! :D So now I have a tea-warmer thing on my desk next to wear my computer goes. And it works beautifully and keeps my tea nice and hot. Yay hot tea.
champagneyes is my favourite icon community on LJ, and recently it got to 300 members and
ellepistolet, who runs the comm, offered ten icons to each of the first ten people who commented, and I was #9! So now I am going to get some shiny pretty new icons yaaaaaay.

I'm just now watching episode 4x12 of Supernatural, Criss Angel is a Douche Bag, and Barry Bostwick is in it!! *Broadwayfags*
