I did think about not using NCIS for this, as there are so many awesome scenes in other fandoms/shows I love. However, when it comes down to it, this scene has to win.
It's the Gibbs/Ducky kiss hug and make up scene set in 'Smoked' from Season Four - another episode that is a pivotal Gibbs/Ducky episode.
Gibbs and Ducky have basically been at odd with one another since Gibbs's return from Mexico. When they address one another directly it's 'Dr. Mallard' and 'Agent Gibbs' or just 'Gibbs', although interestingly when they talk about one another it's mostly 'Ducky' and 'Jethro'. They don't infiltrate one another's personal space as much as they normally do, and although they do seem unable to keep their eyes off one another, they only look when they think/know the other isn't looking. Somewhat bemusingly for me is that fact that more than one person who hadn't seen G/D before, actually saw it during Season Four, prior to their make-up as they believed Ducky couldn't be as pissed with Gibbs if they hadn't been more than just good friends.
Anyway, finally, in episode ten of the season, they make up. It's a wonderful scene, it really is. Ducky brings Gibbs coffee in the squad room and initiates the conversation. During the conversation Ducky says he doesn't really want to use marriage as an analogy of their relationship, but clearly that's how he sees it and Gibbs breaks his own Rule #06 and apologies, saying that it doesn't apply between friends. Ducky offers him his hand to shake and say welcome home, Gibbs does shake it, but they also hug, a wonderful full front body hug when Gibbs's lips (as you can see) end up on Ducky's ear.
DUCKY: I thought you might be needing a refill.
GIBBS: Thanks.
DUCKY: Oh, today certainly brought back a lot of memories.
GIBBS: Yeah.
DUCKY: It also made me realize that since your return, I’ve been acting a little like a . . .
GIBBS: An ass?
DUCKY: Well, something like that.
GIBBS: I didn’t notice.
DUCKY: Yeah, you and I have been through a lot over the years. Look, I hate to use marriage as an analogy . . .
GIBBS: Then don’t. Just tell me what I did to piss you off.
DUCKY: The night you retired, you asked me to drive you home. You didn’t say a single word the entire trip. No explanation. Not even a goodbye.
GIBBS: I was kind of still recovering from the coma, Doctor.
DUCKY: And Kelly? And Shannon? All those years of friendship together, and somehow you failed to mention that you have a family.
GIBBS: Had. Had a family. You know how I feel about apologies, right?
DUCKY: They’re a sign of weakness.
GIBBS: Not between friends. I am sorry, Ducky. I should have told you.
DUCKY: Well, I should have told you something months ago. Welcome home.
GIBBS: Thanks.

A super, wonderful, amazing scene. And one I can watch over and over again and it makes me smile whenever I think of it.
