Picture of the Day 01
I really can't quite compute it is July - July! Where have six months gone? Wimbledon has started; we have a General Election on Thursday and the weather is almost certainly going to get warmer. Not, I am relieved to say, as warm as some of my American friends have it.
So what with one thing and another, I thought to 'cheer myself up' not just because weather-wise I (normally) don't care for July, but also because Wimbledon will be like no other Wimbledon I can remember for well over a decade. Rafa isn't here; Andy hasn't yet decided if he is going to play singles tomorrow or if he'll just play doubles with his brother before finally retiring after the Summer Olympics; Novak is here and says he's recovered enough to play to a high enough standard to compete properly but . . . It really is the 'end of an era'.
Of course there are other players I like and some of our British players have had a good run up to Wimbledon, but over all it's definitely like no Wimbledon I can recall for a long, long time. Times change. *Sighs dramatically*
So what with feeling somewhat subdued by Wimbledon and also apprehensive about the weather getting hotter, I decide to 'cheer myself up' by doing a 'Picture of the day' for July; it will give me something pretty to look at *g* There is no theme or anything, they are just a selection of pictures from my various wallpaper folders.
