Six Word Challenge: Sapphire & Steel

May 17, 2024 13:09

This week's six words were:

Granularity
Harplike
Painless
Pilgrim
Remain
Vacuous

ALL IN THE WORDS

"They told me to teach you to play Scrabble. I'll make it painless."

Steel stared at Silver. "Why do I need to be taught to play Scrabble?"

"Your next assignment's at a Scrabble contest."

Silver explained the rules. "You start."

Steel laid down seven tiles. "Pilgrim."

"Beginners luck," Silver muttered. He placed the letters to make 'remain'.

They continued to play.

Steel made 'harplike' and 'vacuous'. With his final tiles, he made 'granularity'; thus winning the game.

"How did you did so well?"

"Firstly, I never said I couldn't play Scrabble. Secondly, have you forgotten I can read your mind?"
