I shall start this post, with a moments silence in respect to Biscuit One, which was crushed on Wednesday afternoon. Fair thee well Biscuit One, I knew thee well.

I'm other vehicle based news, the Daytona (2 months overdue) finally went in for it's MOT today, it passed with flying colors and a meer recomendation that I replace the front tire soonish, and maybe the exhausts too. Still, nice to be semi-mobile again, the truck is still in the garage (mechanic on holiday for the rest of the week) as is the P6 (last bit in transit). I actually did something unusual today, when I dropped off my Daytona, I asked for a loan bike, which I've never done before, but I needed to go to and from Uni & home, so it was kinda neccesary. So a quick phone call to the DVLA (I didn't have my paper half of my licence) and a temp bike is sorted. They gave me a rather nice bike actually, a Yamaha FazerZ6 to be precise.

Now bear in mind that I'm only 20 and the only big bike I've ever ridden has been my Daytona, this was quite a surprise. The Daytona (being the bike I have wanted since I was 9) is excellent and exactly how I'd imagine it to ride. The Fazer was quite a shock to my system, it's a 600cc so a 200cc drop from my 889cc, so it's less powerfull, but it has no fairings and is a lot lighter and I'm talking a silly difference in weight here. Cornering is completly different, whereas I always have to lean and occasionally "drop-knee" on the slightest of corners on the Daytona, the Fazer just steers round the slow bends and even the fast bends. Speed; there both quick, if I had to guess I'd say that the Daytona goes faster, but the Fazer hits you with it more. With no fairings and a "sit-up-and-beg" riding position, the wind hits you like a brick wall at the higher speeds. The gearing is another that threw me, the Daytona has a standard gearing of a 10mph incremental, e.g. 10mph=1st, 20mph=2nd and so on, the Fazer appears to have a mood-gear-box, where as you can do any speed in any gear. All in all, the Fazer was a fun little bike and something I wouldn't mind in a daily ride (e.g. work runs to the city center and such) but I wouldn't like it for distance rides, it's a tad uncomfortable with the brake lever being inconvienently where your right boot needs to be without having you need to stick it out sideways. I found that being myself lightweight I was having to brake at the apex of hills otherwise we took-off, I pulled two wheelies purely by accident. Looks wise the Fazer looks light a "Streetfighter" and in my opinion, it deserves the title. I only had it for about 12hours, but if I had the money and could keep the Daytona too, I would probably get one.

With the new motorcycle developments, I've decided I'm going to go into Bridge next sunny time (possible next year) and test ride a bunch of big bikes, just so I can get a better understanding of how to ride, but I won't buy another one despite how tempting, my dad would never forgive me if I bought another vehicle! And neither would my wallet!

Uni is ok, we've finally started doing stuff, but it's the tedius boring beginning stuff, and I keep getting stiffed by co-students who won't send me vital parts I need to complete my segments, I've decided to skive today as I don't feel very well and I'd rather rejuvinate and go to work in the evening rather than put up with an incompetent teacher and generic young people.

I'm a little sad at the posponment of ena's costumes, but it's understandable, but she's said shes going to make me a hat and some modded gloves for me for when I go chairitying up in London on the 16th, so that shall be fun, but Ena, don't work yourself too hard you know!

I don't think there is anyone on my F-list who is into bikes, so I've probably just spammed you all, but hey I rode a new bike, it was an experience and this is my LJ, you just choose to read it!

On another side note, I've just started playing about with an effects test for "PLASM 5" and I have to say it looks quite good for a first attempt, I'll upload it to youtube once I've finished major tweeking

stuffe, films, job, people, uni, bikes, fan-films, rant, plasm 5, family
