Been an odd week (aren't they all when it comes to being me) I appear to have caught a slight cold, which is playing havoc with my hypoglycemia, meaning I no longer get the warning feelings if my blood sugar gets low, which means I'm having slight mood swings. My mentally is barely stable enough as it is without mood swings. Work at the pub has been, unusual to say the least. I've worked Friday night to Sunday night this week, which meant working during the rugby finals. During the rugby finals on Saturday I was on the orangary bar, when quite early on I spotted a familiar face, Toya Saunders. Toya is my ex from my first year of college, and to date the most serious relationship I've had, also I've managed to stay on quite friendly terms with her. She's just gotten back from a couple of months over in the America's teaching people to sail. So yes, I was put in a good mood when I had a quick chat with her whilst serving her alcohol. I was then put in a bit of a bad mood when she left without saying goodbye, like I said these mood swings are a bit of a bitch. The rest of that night isn't really notable, however it did point out many things I already knew about me, and that at some point I should probably see a therapist or something.
Now Sunday night was a peculiar night. Instead of being on the Long bar as scheduled I was put out in the tent. Which consisted of sitting around outside in the cold, serving about 1 person per hour. When I eventually did come back inside at about 10ish, I went to the Long bar and it wasn't till close-down at about 12 that I realized, I'm in charge of this bar. It was me and another guy who was newer than me and I was supposed to close it down and have it all ready for the next mornings running. Admittedly yes, I have been working nights for months now and I know the basics of close-down, but being put in charge and not being told threw me, so simple mistakes were made her and there, my excuse of "I'm new" no longer works, so I've had to switch to my "I'm stupid" one instead. Still this development has made me wonder, was this a trail to see if I could do the job, are they thinking about promoting me slightly and why.
Now then, EXETER BASED PEOPLES on Tuesday night, the Picturehouse is showing Monty Python's The Life of Brian at 8pm, who fancies joining me? I'm going with a couple of people from work but all is welcome.
Hopefully This week will bring good things.
