I don't know what I want to do for the summer. I feel very uninspired. I have an interview with the "Excel Learning Center." The woman on the phone said I'd probably be teaching reading to a class of about 10-12 4th-5th graders (NOT special ed) for about 4-5 hours a day. And while that sounds pretty cool and like something I'd like to do, I got a weird vibe from the woman and she said that the hours weren't certain. Plus, the location is a bit of a shlep. Then I got to thinking, maybe I should get a job at one of the many restaurants, coffee shops, or boutiques in my new neighborhood. But if I do that, it'll probably be really crappy as far as hours and pay go. Then I got to thinking, maybe I should just do nothing at all except go to the gym and the beach and sit in the Tea Lounge and write my future novel about being a first-year teacher in NYC that will, of course, be a best-seller because, of course, nobody's ever done that before. Does anyone have an idea of what I should do or can hook me up with a sweet, high paying, easy as pie job? That would be swell.
