Today I had yet another day off! Not really a good thing, but I tried to be productive nevertheless. I actually made the drive to work today, normally a 20 minute drive, took me about an hour today. As I'm pulling in (on time I might add) I get a call from my boss saying he's telling everyone to stay home. Go figure. I needed to be on this side of Lake Washington anyhow since Mike and Lauren are still stranded in San Jose, they were supposed to get in yesterday but now have a flight for Wednesday thanks to the storm. I'm helping them out by staying at their place and watching Marleau for them.
With the free time, I'm going through my external hard drives, organizing them so I can reformat the 500GB one. It had a bad power supply and caused an error where data is read-only. So I can access what is on there now, but can't make changes to it or add anything more. It's a tedious task to back all that up so I can wipe the drive and hopefully fix the HD.
The interesting part is that going through all this stuff is like I'm reliving the last 3 or 4 years of my life. It's put me in an introspective mood really. I don't want to say melancholy really, but for the good things that I'm reminded of, there are some hard times as well. I grew up a lot in these last four years, and this last year in particular, but it doesn't mean that I don't still regret some of the painful lessons that got me here.
But the important thing is that I'm very happy now.
