First was the A Perfect Circle show. Burning Brides opened up, and promptly sucked as expected. APC came out, and played a dark, moody set that was impressive in its own right. I wasn't sure what to think about Maynard's stage (or lack thereof) presence. I'm just so used to seeing a front man being actually up front. I never really got a look at him, and for the entire first song (vanishing) he was behind a screen, backlit by stage lights, it was pretty sweet. Highlight for me was being able to see James Iha (from Smashing Pumpkins) play guitar.

Then Yesterday was the Velvet Revolver concert, and after the first song, Scott Weiland asked "who remembers Rock and Roll?" I thought it was a bit egotistical until he actually backed up that with a set filled with straight up rock music. I have to admit it was so much better than I thought it was going to be. Their first single "slither" sounds great live. They played Stone Temple Pilots songs "Crackerman" and "Sex Type Thing" They played Guns and Roses songs like "Used To Know Her" "Mr. Brownstone" and "It's So Easy". Then the show was finished with Nirvana's "Negative Creep". I don't know if many will get a chance to see them in such a small venue like this again, but I was very impressed.
Scott Weiland looked like he was channeling a combination of Axl Rose, David Bowie, and Freddie Mercury. Slash played guitar like a freak, and the band was one of the best I've ever seen for moving around the stage, and keeping the entire crowd into it. Scott was looking pretty damn good, he was quite buff on stage with his shirt off.
Anyways, I'm a bit beat from the last few nights, since I've had to get up fairly early for work...
