Whorish clothes lead men to sin and we need to know the evil of our influence, eh?

"It is evil for any woman to deliberately cause lasciviousness by her immodest attire.  Some women are very cruel.  This evil is VERY common today.  In fact, many people think it's perfectly ( Read more... )

I've never been a big fan of graffiti, mostly because I'm just so not thrilled whenever someone writes/paints a bunch of shit on my property.

That's true, though the focus of the forum was more public property, bathroom stalls, buildings, bridges, etc. versus personal property.

I would think most bathroom stalls people use are in buildings that are in fact owned by someone. Restaurants, etc.

Sure, but being owned by someone does not necessarily make them personal property. Taking a sharpie to a chain restaurant, or even a single restaurant, is very different than taking it to someone's house... it feels, well, less close to home.

I dunno, but if I was a business owner I would still be pretty displeased. And I think it was my sister's job to clean up the bathroom graffiti, and I believe she was also pretty much displeased.

Actually, you could arguably say business owners put more money and time into trying, just trying to get the damn business to run and look good than I ever have on my house. I do have my entrepreneurial side, I have dreamed of owning a business, and I know I would feel unhappy if someone started marking up parts of my store, even just the bathrooms. I would put time and money into cleaning it up, and just generally feel discouraged that someone wants to fuck up my place.

That's totally a good point.

For me its more about the personal space and not the money put into cleaning something up... like, if someone marked up my bedroom window I'd feel violated, but if someone marked up my restaurants bathroom (even if I were the one cleaning it) I can totally respect putting a message out there. That's more important to me than property; but then again, I'd probably be the type of business owner to encourage artful graffiti and poetry and whatnots (even the offensive shit, its all self expression) and leave it there.

It would be much more the feeling that someone didn't respect me, but I wouldn't be happy about trying to clean it either.

I was thinking about this in the bathroom in the library today - it's our fancy old library, and the walls in the bathroom are this gorgeous marble, and someone had scratched a bunch of stupid shit in it, like "Carly is a slut" or whatever.
