[Mod] This is an Off-Topic post...
but I figure it is better to spread the message. We're still a small community, but I think it is a good idea to be informed and cautious.
Just in case you haven't heard about this by now, there is someone hacking into moderator journals and posting messages on the communities they mod that say they're closing and relocating to another site. The message says something like this:
"Dear friends, I, as the maintainer of the community, have to inform you that, due to the recent tragic events, I've decide to stop using LJ as a platform for my community (and to remove everything that was posted here before). From now on, all new materials should be posted to the new community I've recently created, as for old posts, you will be able to find them there"
Doesn't sound suspicious at all, right? The post will contain links taking you to another site. Do not click on those links. If you do, run a virus scan program ASAP.
I've heard that a few other communities have been hit very recently, so please be aware that this is still happening. If you see a message like this pop up anywhere, report it straightaway and ignore it.
