Today we went to Pillnitz, the beautiful Baroque castle and park on the Elbe. One of the remarkable things the place is famous for, besides the architecture and the gardens, are the squirrels. But since there anyone can grab a fist of nuts and get a squirrel to get close to them and eat from their hand, we were honored with a more distinguished encounter:
Gaby spotted this little fellow from afar.
He was munchin on a chestnut.
When we got closer he didn't run away, he only walked a bit and the stopped and waited to see what we were on about. He didn't even turn into a spiked ball, like hedgehogs do, he only waited there until we were done with taking pics of him. When we walked away, he walked in the opposite direction to mind his own hedgehog business.
Cool little fella.
