Took loads of pics and gonna post loads of pics. Just click on them to enlarge.
I was standing on Perttu's side of the stage, but they kept switching, Perttu and Paavo, and sometimes Eicca, and they all made sure that both sides of the stage got their share of each of the guys.
And, of course, sometimes making like a duo.
Paavo loved to drop on his knees, and play. He's like a bundle of energy, always jumping and running around. Was rather difficult to catch him on his knees, because then he jumped on his feet again. That's the only shot I could take, and rather dark, that's why the noise.
Perttu.
The lights were fantastic. The stage is rather small, and they had only a huge textile poster of the back wall of the stage (well, two, and were switched - they depicted imagery from the cover of their last cd)-
So what practically was on the stage were only the lights and the shapes of the guys.
And their relationship with the cellos, how they wrapped themselves around the cellos.
The big ISO makes the light colors seem brighter.
This must be one of my most fav shots. I love how the guys seem to separate themselves from a single body, how one is in the dark and the other basking in light, one facing the viewer, though not looking at us, the other one facing exactly the opposite direction.
One thing about being so close to them is to see how deep into their music and what they were doing they are.
Perttu was singing all the words of the songs they played, but not for us, but for himself.
The guys at work.
Just observe the tackiness of the singer's outfit. It was so on purpose, because he had other outfit as well too.
As said, they were spinning and lifting those cellos around like they were twigs. Perttu is so skinny and yet he played around with the cello like it would have been a piece of paper.
At the end of one song, Eicca and Paavo jumped on the podium where the drums were, with the cellos too, and played from there.
Eicca and Paavo.
Paavo kept on smiling.
Mikko, in one of the rare good shots of him I managed to take.
"Time for some head-banging".
And man, did they head-bang!
