Well, there isn`'t much novelty, since I'm still with the cold, and now have to stay the whole week at home and treat it.
The beautiful mountains and the spectacular sky around the castle.
Another view, from above, of the fountain behind the palace/residence villa, the villa itself and the mountain.
Another view with the stairs and the fountain in front of the villa/palace.
On the top of the stairs, a platform, with this statue, in the middle of a grass patch with benches, a great place from which to admire the beauty of the mountains.
It did end up raining that day.
But we were lucky, since it started after we finished our tour.
On the side of the stairs.
Another glimpse of the mountains.
The fountain at the base of the stairs.
Some other details of the plant-tops.
The statues in the fountain in front of the villa/palace.
The path through the garden, leading to "The Cave".
"The Cave" is an artificial cave built for the private viewing of musical shows. On one side it has like a little (very little) lake with an alegorical boat on it, and on the background this painting.
Opposite to the stage-lake were the seats for Ludwig and his suite. The walls of the cave are made of plaster, but the accoustics are excellent. Also, The Cave is also equipped with lights system, for the shows. Currently it is renovating, but already can be visited. As everything, Ludwig built a lot of stuff for his friend and protege, Wagner (the composer), and since I don't remember exctly now, I think this was also built to stage the Wagnerian creations.
The Marrokan kiosk.
The visitor could see only through a wall of glass, what is in the kiosk. It was rather dark and behind me was the entry door, which was always opening and closing - not so easy to take pics.
The peacock, the second favorite bird of Ludwig. There were severals, in his castles and gardens, very beautifully crafted, in various materials.
The view from the kiosk.
Some details of the beautifully decorated outside walls of the kiosk.
Now it really feels like in North-Africa.
The tower on the corner.
Walking through the "garden"
Just amazingly beautiful. From all the castles there, this I definitely want to visit again.
A little green flower. The garden wasn't set in the way conventional gardens are, there were a lot of grass surfaces and alleys among trees.
And some bushes, with flowers.
And a little pond for different birdies, especially ducks.
And finally, last but not least, we saw swans. The swan is the symbol of the region (Schwangau, the name, comes from Schwan, swan). It was also the favorite bird of Ludwig. and it can be seen over all in his castles and palaces.
The End
