Memories of the sea

I love the sea. I don't fancy the usual sunny-beach-full-of-people-and-their-loud-chattering-and-music thing. I prefer to go to the sea when it's out of season, when you can see clouds, waves, rain, million and million shades of colors of the sky and the water. The beach on the Baltic Coast is definitely different from the beaches in Spain, Greece or Romania. On the beach at the Baltic Sea the sand is almost white, and fine like a flour, so in a sunny day the beach looks like one of those Pacific paradise-like islands. I also loved it that there were a lot of birds coming on the beach - seagulls, ducks, swans, and many other sea birds. Of course they didn't stay too close to humans, but close enough to get fed by these. On other beaches I've been birds wouldn't dare to get that close. Also, there weren't much algae brought by the waters (like in Romania or Greece), but the waves made this white-yellowish foam that remained on the sand, in long, fluffy strips. One day the waves were bringing all sort of jelly-fish. In the first day we had rainy weather, but that didn't stop us from walking on a beach and the surroundings. So, here'll be lots of pics of the beach in the first day of our stay there.

They had these little wodden paths connecting the boardwalk to the beach, Between the boardwalk and the beach was this tiny pine forest.

The beach looks empty in my pics, but there were actually a lot of people.

The Seebrücke at Heringsdorf.

In the round pavilion there there's a restaurant.

I have this thinggie, I find birds and feathers icky, but that didn't prevent me from admiring them birdies on the beach.

A different type.

No one was renting them that day.

2 Euros - hour, 6 Euros - day.

Details of one of the boats on the beach. There were few of them, not together, but you could see one from time to time, resting in the sand. There are used by fishermen that caught fish and then sold it in these wooden huts. They also smoked the fish there, and sold it. Very, very yummy, I can tell you.

The birds seemed not to be bothered by the cold and the rain.

The foam from the waves.

The agitated sea.

Those wooden logs were for the birds to sit on and rest. You could see, along the beach, from time to time, such lines of logs.

The beach, and afar - Seebad Bansin, another resort, next to Heringsdorf.

Waiting, patient, in silence for them sunny days to return.
