Just finished processing the pics for those 200 items to put in this e-shop we're building. Still a lot more to do. Found 2 new most fav songs: "Prison Sex" (trust MrN to listen to such stuff :P) and "Sober", both by Tool. Once again, the rule that things come in my life only when the time is right for them works. Been listening to Tool intensively for more than an years or so, but got to these 2 tunes only now. Of course it's best that it happened this way. And of course they got me to like MJK's voice even more. You can actually feel the rage behind these lyrics and songs. Yet, they can be so soothing. Dunno who in MJK's life was an addict (alcohol or drugs), but his portail in those lyrics is so frightening accurate.
Anyway, more about the 3 days in the mountains with Gaby. The third day we decided to go see the castles at Peles, which are in Sinaia, a town on the main road to Bucharest from where we were. To get to there, we went back to Brasov, and there we got on this boulevard where they took out all the asphalt. Yes. And it was the main road everyone was taking to go to Bucharest. So, imagine this really busy boulevard, with all sorts of cars and truck, driving in the first gear, all looking like pigs bathing in a pool of mud, because, remember, it had been raining in the last days. But the rest of the road to Sinaia was alright.
Again we had really beautiful weather, sunny and warm. We visited the castles, and then went to eat something. Gaby said she wanted, when we got back to Bucharest, to take the road we came on in the first day. Remember, we couldn't see anything because of the storm from hell. But that meant to go all the way back to Bran, and then to the road to Bucharest, more than 200 km, of wich about half in the mountains. But since it was such a nice weather, we took that road, and man!, it was worth. Unfortunately, for her :P, Gaby's cam ran out of batteries, so I had to play the role of the official photographer. Thus, here I can show some of them pics. There's a secondary road, on the way from Sinaia, which cuts through the mountains, so we could avoid going through Brasov again (at rush hour) and through the boulevard from hell. The way was awesome, through the mountains, on those slopes, up and down, until we reached again the monastery at Namaesti. We stopped there too, and took few pics, as well. Then Pitesti, where starts the highway. We got the around 11 pm, and after some dinner and some Coke to keep us awake, we got on the highway, which is like 120 km from there to Bucharest. It wasn't very busy, so I could go almost always with 140 km/h, so we reached Bucharest in only 45 minutes. There were a lot of Police too, but they left us alone.
Anyway, too much babbling...
On the secondary road from Predeal to Rasnov.
On the way from Bran to Namaesti.
The road slithers along the mountains and you can see right into the valleys below.
And the views are breath-taking.
The wonderful clouds in a wonderful summer day.
At monastery in Namaesti. In black there is a nun, she wasn't very young, but was there, taking care of the flowers. Fright of heights is out of question, I guess.
The church of the monastery. It was laste already so we couldn't get in it anymore.
The graves near the rock in which the church is built. (Dunno if people are actually burried there, or there are only the crosses).
Of course, there had to be cats also.
With eyes wide open. He looks like he wanted to taste some black ink and he got dirty.
Another nun was chatting with the one taking care of the flowers beyond the fence. It was getting dark outside already. The village was going to sleep, it was really quiet and peaceful.
One of the crosses right on the rock where the church is built.
He was keeping a close eye on us.
At the horizon. There's this thing from which they bring coal or lime through this huge pipe that goes to the valley, above the road. Looks surreal.
To the horizon, again, from the yard of the monastery.
The village below the monastery. Gaby suggested we should leave the car there and take the cart with the horses, that was right behind us, for our way back to Bucharest. :P
Another monastery-cat.
Well, that was all. Hope you enjoyed them pics and story.
