It's been a bit. So I present to you Michel Gondry, a good director and a complete freak.
Spensaur is no longer allowed to watch movies. Yesterday, out of the blue, he says, "Hey, I've got a baby name I want to use. What do you think of Argyle?"
"Argyle? Gah! You're going to hell!"
Fast-forward to today. I'm sorting files at work when suddenly I epiphany and call Spen. "Spen, when you came up with Argyle yesterday? You were watching 'Braveheart," weren't you?"
[pleased chortling from Spensaur]
"You're cut off, Spen. No more 'Braveheart' for you!" [me hangs up]*
Also, at work I'm walking by one of the epidemiologists and he's wearing a shirt and the font kind of wrapped around his side. And I almost lost my crap, b/c I read the font at first glance as "Seize the Women!" I thought it was a bad-A Viking reference, but sadly it was a Evangelical church shirt that said, "Seize the Moment!" And I was totally disappointed. Bob Saget!
And I saw two sneak previews recently, "Hot Rod" and "Stardust." "Hot Rod," well, if you're a teenaged boy or have their sense of humor, you'll love it. I just cringed the entire time watching it.
"Stardust," on the other hand, was all the things I ever wanted a movie to be. Best film I've seen in awhile. Well acted, beautifully filmed... Go see it, seriously. I know a lot of us are poor, but I'll prolly see it again and actually pay for it this time.
*BTW, I'm not expecting a baby. Nope. We just like horrifying each other by throwing names at each other.
