They were patrolling the streets of Never Was. It had been a dull three hours. His feet were sore when they finally walked into the dead end; the world border; the end of their patrol.
"Well," Luxord said, "Time to head back." He was about to summon a portal, but stopped. The other man stood staring up at Kingdom Hearts; its pallid light on his face; his single eye gleaming.
"It won't work." Voice so quiet, face so still.
It almost scared him.
But then Xigbar turned, cocky smile back in place, and the spell broke.
"Wanna see something neat?"
