Oh, perhaps I should clarify. I did really enjoy the book. Sometimes I like to be overly critical.
I also find there's a little too much influence of Bradley's own neopagan faith on the way that Avalon and its priestesses are handledI definitely noticed this. Or, at least, I suspected it. I know only a very little about paganism so I did not bring this up in my review because I didn't want to get bashed for my ignorance. I did feel Christianity was treated unjustly, but then I remembered I feel that it's treated unjustly from my current perspective. In the era Bradley is writing about, it really was a lot of those things she portrayed so negatively. It got away from Christ. My favorite parts (religiously) were probably when one of the priestesses or Merlins would point out scripture that just nailed an aspect of faith that so many Christians neglect/ed
