Okay, I have to get myselft together! It's already five days since I came back!
Luckily, I kept a journal every day, so I wouldn't forget what the heck I did, haha!
This is probably gonna be a long post. But anyways, here goes!
Arriving
Our journey began at midnight where we went to Copenhagen Airport by train. In the airport we waited for about 2½ hours before we were allowed to check in. Our flight to Brussels was at half past six in the morning. In Brussels, where all we did was walking from one gate to another, through security check and what not, we were tranfered to Newark Liberty Airport, which, in fact, is New Jersey. So apparently I've been to New Jersey, too haha.
In the airport we were, to our great surprise, picked up by my grandfather. To our great surprise, because we all had been under the expectation that Roni, my uncle, would pick us up from the airport. Anyways, in his fancy car we drove all the way to Monroe, NY, which is the town where my grandfather lives. There we were greeted by Fanny, his wife, and shown around their (small) house.
Later that day, Roni came by with his little daughter, Sofia, to say hello and we went to Woodbury Common to have some dinner.
The Big Apple (Very big)
After 12 hours of sleeping (I was completely knackered from all the traveling, obviously haha), we got up, had breakfast, packed our bags and then Rafi (my grandfather) drove us to Monroe bus station, where we took the bus to New York City. After arriving at Port Authority Bus Terminal, which is the bus terminal of NYC (it is biiiiiiiiig), we quickly found our way to our hotel. Apparently it was right across the street from Madison Square Garden on 7th Avenue, which is also refered to as "Fashion Avenue", though I don't really know why. I don't think I saw that many fashion stores. But oh well, Macy's (where we also went a number of times, not really buying anything though) is on 7th Avenue.
Just walking down to our hotel I already got an impression of exactly how grand New York is. And crossing Time Square it occured to me how big that is, with all its advertisements and light tables looking down from every skyscraper there. And oh my god, there were so many people, it was unbelievable! All the time, everywhere, life!
After checking in at our hotel and dropping our bags in our room, we went out again. The first thing we did was having dinner at Hard Rock Café New York! It was kind of cool. I had a Veggie Burger.
Next thing we did was buying tickets for the hop-on-hop-off sightseeing doubledecker bus and taking the entire Downtown Loop. Which means we saw most of Downtown Manhattan from a sightseeing bus. No way we would ever see Manhattan if we didn't rode these busses. We had no idea where to go. It has quite an overwhelmning effect on you, New York.
Anyway. All in all we were in New York City four days, in which we did a number of things. We met up with my cousin and her boyfriend which also were there, taking a stop before going on to California. Together we went to The Metropolitan Museum of Art, ontop of the Rockefeller Center (this was instead of going to the Empire State Building, because, probably, so many people would be going to the Empire State Building (and speaking of the Empire State Building - I have lived my entire life thinking that the Chrysler Building was the Empire Sate Building hahah)), where we had an excellent view of all Manhattan. Central Park is literally a rectangular square in the middle of Manhattan. Quite funny, I find. We went to 5th Avenue where all the exclusive designer stores are situated. We even went to the DKNY store, since my cousin was looking for a certain bag, which, it happened, they didn't have. We went on the Staten Island Ferry, which is free to board, to get a view on the Statue of Liberty. We didn't want to go with the Ellis Island Ferry. Four hours is a looooong wait! We walked through Central Park, Greenwich Village (a very charming area!), did a little shopping in SoHo and we even rode the Subway! We did so many things! And I even did a little book shopping on my own. Right across the street, just in front of Madison Square Garden, was the biggest book store I'd ever seen in my life. It was like walking into a library! I love that feeling, being surrounded by books. Billions of words waiting to be read. Anyway, I bought two books in the Gay and Lesbian Literature section.
The last day, after checking out and before going to the Bus Terminal we went to the M&M's World Store situated on Times Square. It's ridiculously funny!

The very big book store!
The view from our room. Charming, huh?

At Rafi'sWe lived at my grandfather's for six days before heading over to Roni's. In those days we went to the Palisades Mall which, like anything in America, is humongous! Seriously, I've never seen a mall like that! We spent almost ten hours in there, shopping, eating, seeing a movie (The Last Airbender (great movie)), and some more shopping. It's so much fun, doing it the American way. I'll show you all what I bought later on. We also chilled a lot, which was nice. I read a book. Actually, the day we got back from NYC we went to see some fireworks in honour of the 4th of July at the local High School. It was nice. The 4th of July we went to have lunch at Roni's spending most of the day there. I met Mary Jo, Roni's wife, for the first time, my other uncle, Grabriel, his wife, Natanya, and their two sons, Noa and Joshua, my cousins, and their adopted daughter, Sara (she is two and the cutest thing on this very earth! I've never wanted to adopt a child more than when I saw her!). The la st two days at Rafi's, Rafi and Fanny went to Long Island to see his brother, Daniel, and his wife, Norma, which had come all the way from Argentina. So we had the entire house for ourselves which was very nice indeed! I tried Donuts (six donuts cost 1.35$. Isn't that.... disgusting?) which I found nothing special but not bad either, and cheesecake which is YUUUUM!
It really brought forth Emil's masculinity! The girl is Sofia, my cousin.

At Roni's
The last Saturday Roni and Mary Jo and Sofia came to pick us up and take us to their place. They're so pleasant being around with. I felt so welcome, and they were so down to earth! Very nice people!
Roni has a boat, or the entire family does, actually, so a couple of times we went out on the lake (they live right next to a big beautiful lake. They have the most exquisite view!) threw in the anchor and just jumped in! The water was so nice we had troubles even getting up, haha!
We saw some movies on Roni's Xbox 360, went to the Woodbury Common Premium Outlet city, which is a city of outlet stores selling designer brands cheaper than in the actual stores, like on 5th Avenue and such. But keep in mind that this was still designer brands, meaning that we could afford pretty much nothing, haha. But it was loads of fun anyways!
isn't she adorable? ;A;
My uncle :3
All in all I had the time of my life. An utterly unforgettable journey.
