I, Adrian Mayfield
I have mentioned earlier that after finishing "Chocolat" I went straight to the next book in that way to high pile of must-reads. "I, Adrian Mayfield", or as you can tell from the picture "Jeg, Adrian Mayfield" (the title in Danish).
It was recommended to me by one of my close friends haruka_kite (who writes beautifully herself), when we visited a big bookstore in Copenhagen in the Christmas holidays.
In the entry where I first mentioned this book, I told that the author, Floortje Zwigtman, had an entirely different style of writing than Joanne Harris, the author of "Chocolat", which is indeed a fact. I guess it's similar to painting and drawing - not a single artist are alike in their way of conveying art onto their sheet of paper or canvas. You can really tell that Floortje Zwigtman is a younger and more mordern author. I find it very refreshing not to be lost in vivid and curly descriptions, but to get it served more directly, which is not to say that Zwigtman can't write - cause indeed she can!
I just hope the sequel will be translated soon. Did you know that it has only been translated into Danish? Makes me a little proud to be Danish :3 I haven't had enough of Adrian Mayfield - that's for sure.
