Our hero finally comes back to his log...

It's been quite some time since I've had a proper update. It makes me wonder if anyone actually reads this after all but I wouldn't blame them as this particular journal doesn't tend to be exciting. I mean, come on, one real update in a month? Yeah. Anyway, a lot has happened since my last update. The most important is that my club is finally starting to take shape. For those of you who don't allready know, I'm forming a history/philosophy/arts discussion club at UTD. We've finally finished the name for it and as of today it is no longer "Discussion Club" (a temporary name we had to use in order to attend meetings) but we will be known as History Science Theatre 3000 (excellent name Micheal). Hopefully we will begin actual club meetings soon and with any luck we will be a successful club by the end of the fall semester next year. Major props go to Will, Tim, Micheal, and Lance for helping me actually get the thing off the ground. It's been a wild ride but I think we finally made it.

In other news, I went to a LAN party on Friday. Pictures are posted on my photoblog (http://naito85.blogspot.com). We went to Phil's house (thanks again for letting us over) and had a fairly good time with Phil, Aka, Troy, Will, Marius, and myself. Games ranged from Starcraft to CS: Source and included even Quake III and a rather strange round of Half-Life 2 deathmatch. Phil attempted to get Half-Life 2 working in co-op mode but that didn't really work out so well. For a spontaneous LAN though it worked out rather well. Everyone seemed to have a pretty good time even if we stopped really playing games around midnight or so. I've also rediscovered that I have some Quake skills thanks to Spanish and Com Sci my junior year (I knew I learned something from Spanish IV). It was also my first LAN party away from the apartment with my computer so I was quite happy to have a good first time out. I'm sure there will be many more LANs over the summer.

School is going fairly well. We only have a month left until it's all over, finals and all. My current problem is that I have apprently been going to the wrong Geo Sci lab class for half the semester. I figured out that I had been in the wrong class when I had done fairly well on both tests but had recieved a failing grade at midterms. I have about half the semester to do the work for the entire class and it hasn't been fun. I've been going in on Tuesdays and Thursdays when I haven't had lab class to work with the professor but I can't really complain as I probably normally wouldn't have a chance to make it up at all. This has been rather annoying however with all of the tests and assignments I've had to do lately. Hopefully it will all work out for the best. On the brightside, should I choose to take the Physical Geology course next semester I will do pretty well. Speaking of Geo Sci, I have a field trip on Saturday to see some fossils which should be fairly interesting. We're only going out as far as Ft. Worth but it should still be fun. Otherwise though classes are generally getting easier except for Art History so I think this semester ought to end up better then the last one.

There is little else going on at the moment. I've been getting out on the bike more recently which is good because I need the excersise. D&D took a bit of a break for spring break and last week so I'm looking forward to playing tonight. I'm going to try to see if I can get my old job back sometime in the near future. Also, The Incredibles is an awesome movie and I suggest you see it if you haven't allready. And, of course, I can now eat pop-tarts again with the passing of lent. I went out and got two boxes today. That is all for now, may you always take in stride the problems that you face.
