New things
I am getting more and more excited to start my new job, even though that means having to be more serious than ever about work and goodbye freedom. Before I begin though, I need these new things:
1) Notebook. I am a sucker for notebooks and even though there are still plenty more pages in the "MBS notebook", I refuse to use it. I want a new one for the new job, and best to have a "professional-looking" one. hehe.
2) Pen. A personal pen, the kind you always keep in your bag/purse wherever you go. I saw a blue ball-point pen in Smiggle the other day and I loved it! I wonder why I didn't get it then tsk.
On a side note, have you been to Smiggle? They have one in PS, but I don't know where else. OMG I fell in love with like 92% of the stationery there! The shop is categorised into different colours, so for somebody like me who always gets things that are blue, you can just zoom in straight to your favourite colour! http://www.smiggle.com.au/tem/home.tem
3) Tissue. Okay it might sound a tad ridiculous for this to be in my list of things to get, but I actually use tissues a lot. I like being clean and even the slightest bit of grease on my fingers (from eating chips or something) or on the desk, I would wipe it clean. Therefore, a box of tissue is a must!
These are other things I would definitely add to my desk (yes finally, my very own desk!):
- Calendar (self-explanatory)
- A plant of some sort. I personally feel that it is good to have a bit of greenery at your desk. I don't quite know why, but partly because it looks good haha! I love nature anyway, so why not?
- Mug and coaster. Anis and Fir gave me a really cute ice-cream mug for my birthday, and it comes with a lid and spoon. Something practical yet fun.
- Stationery holder. Some companies provide stationery holders, some don't. But I'd get a pretty one if I have to get one. (:
Depending on the office, I might also permanently place a bottle of hand lotion on my desk. I guess that's about it. Of course I won't get them all at once, I will slowly "develop" my desk into making it a place I enjoy working at. (:
Okay this just occured to me - because of my position, I mighttttt actually be given my very own name-cards! Wow, won't that be super cool?!
